Dropping Dimes Mock Draft: Round 4, Pick 1 - Kevin Martin

K-Mart and Tru Warier
Dwyane Wade.
Al Jefferson.
Rudy Gay.

Through three rounds of a head to head draft, having these three guys from the 12 spot. Time to press the advantage in scoring, and this guy might be the best scorer left out there. Plus he provides in bundles what this team still needs lots of…three-pointers.

Round 4, Pick 1, Kevin Martin, SG, Sacramento Kings

The Fig Cap: With the Tru Warier gone, K-Mart is open 24-7! Give me the rock!

K-Mart provides the best example of a player on the rise in the fantasy game. Here are his three-year highs and lows in the major statistical categories.

Best: 80 GP, 48.0 FG%, 86.9 FT%, 23.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.8 3pt, 1.2 spg, 0.1 bpg, 1.1 topg

Worst: 61 GP, 45.6 FG%, 84.4 FT%, 10.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.4 apg, 0.9 3pt, 0.8 spg, 0.1 bpg, 2.2 topg

Like the stock market, trends in K-Mart’s game are either up or down.

Field goal percentage has decreased each year, as K-Mart has taken more shot attempts. Three-point attempts have also been on the rise, but interesting he has improved his three-point percentage every year. Trips to the line have also been up, and K-Mart can almost counterract Dwight Howard or Shaquille O’Neal in this category. Well, maybe not, no one can do that, but Martin does more to your team in FT% than say, Steve Nash does.

Rebounds have gone up with each year, as have the turnovers. Dwyane Wade turns the ball over a lot, and so it is nice to have someone like K-Mart who scores a lot, but can keep the miscues to around two a game.

Taking K-Mart here does bring some risks. It will be a long time before this team makes its fifth selection. Al Jeff is a solid big man, but he still needs some support, especially when Wade does not shoot threes and that makes playing small ball difficult. Gay can block shots, so a sneaky big ball team could still be what this squad turns into. Gay also shoots the trey and him and Martin could head an oddball type of team.
