Injury Lowdown: K-Mart Closed Indefinitely

Denver Nuggets PF Kenyon Martin had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. The procedure was performed to remove “loose bodies” in the knee. The Denver Nuggets announced that Kenyon will be out indefinitely. The Rocky Mountain News reported that it is uncertain how long Kenyon will be out, but the recovery time for this kind of procedure is usually 2-4 weeks.
Side Note: From the “If-You-Care” file, Portland Trailblazers forward Darius Miles also had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and will be out indefinitely as well.
Fantasy Lowdown:
Oh, here we go again with Kenyon Martin. Last year, K-Mart had problems with his left knee that he had micro-fracture surgery on, which forced him to miss 26 games. The Rocky Mountain News reported that it usually takes 2-4 weeks recovery time, so expect Kenyon to miss at least 4 weeks. Eduardo Najera got the start for Kenyon on Wednesday night and managed 12 points and 4 rebounds in 25 minutes. Eduardo will continue to get some burn while K-Mart in out. The biggest fantasy benefactor will be Nene Hilario. There should be a steady increase of PT for Nene in the upcoming week, so pick up Nene if you can and stash him, once he is starting you will enjoy 12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block a game.
Stick a fork in Darius Miles, he will very likely have no fantasy value this season.
