Dropping Dimes On The Daily: January 5, 2007

Kobe Bryant and his admirerDropping Dimes On The Daily is all about me looking at the previous night’s performances and mentioning those that did pretty goodly and those that did pretty badly.  Goodly is a word, right?  Anyway, this will be a quick look around the league, so don’t expect a ton of text, just some daily fantasy basketball goodness!!!  Please note that this is the fantasy basketball section of ElevationMag.com’s Daily Top Picks.  Check it out and see your daily rumors, quotes, headlines, and facts!  But read the fantasy section HERE!

The Fig Cap: “Dude, no need to kiss me… just admire my work from afar!”

Only three games last night, which does wonders for me because I don’t have to write as much.  I think I do way too much for you guys and you don’t even friggin’ appreciate it!!!  Can I get a comment from more than the DD Crew and Four Twenty?!?!?!  C’MON!!!  Okay, so I’m kidding… sort of.  Anyway, before I cram my foot anymore down my mouth, which is really getting in the way of me typing, let’s get rocking with DDOTD (yes, I like abbreviations).

I love offensive games and last night’s Lakers/Kings OT game was great to watch.  We had Kobe hanging the reverse of his jersey number (which is 24, so that would be 42 points) and Mike Bibby scoring again with 38 points!  Thanks for remembering how to put the ball in the basket at a prolific rate, Mike!  I was a little concerned when I drafted you because of your 20 ppg potential and you were giving me nothing but the mid-teens!  I was feeling like Chris Hansen was going to come out of nowhere and say, “I’m Chris Hansen.”...  Brian Cook scored 26 points (thank you Kwame Brown)...  Andrew Bynum double-dipped with 15 and 11, along with three “get that shiznit out of here"s (once again, thank you Kwame Brown)... In other games, Tyson Chandler had a weird line - 16 rebounds and a whole three points!  I love that line… Jannero Pargo is doing a pretty good Chris Paul impersonation with 16/8/6 and three rock rips… Okay, sorry for going back to the Lakers/Kings, but I have to mention that Kobe led the league last night with nine dime drops, so can we all end the “He’s a ballhog” comments now?  BTW, if he got another assist, it would have been a triple-double… Devean George is quietly doing well with the Mavs - in 31 minutes last night, he had 13 points and 4 steals.  If he’s available in a deep league, grab him… Josh Howard is playing like he’s big, literally.  What’s up with all the double-digit boarding going on?  Must be the Wheaties… There’s something going on with Rasheed Wallace.  He only scored two points last night in 27 minutes, taking only four shots.  Does he think his first name is Ben?... Til Monday, have a great weekend!!!

I feel so honored to be mentioned in a DD piece!

I’m a rock star! OK, Im’ over myself now.

I like the new feature, and congrats to Sarge!

I’ve been a Pargo fan for a few years.  I was hoping the Bulls would keep him, but understood why they couldn’t.  When he got the opportunity to play with Bulls he did well.  For some reason the guy can’t get off the end of anyone’s bench unless there’s an injury.  He’s a bit of a Ben Gordon light, instant offense off the bench, and he can occasionally shoot you out of game when he’s cold.
