You know who’s got a new project up on Kickstarter?

Mike Kunkel, the creator of Herobear whose work I also loved on DC Comics’ Billy Batson and The Magic Of Shazam!

Timmy And The Moonpiece is a little bit different - it’s not a comic book, it’s a 40-page children’s picture book. Here’s Mike, doing the explaining:

“It's the story of a young boy, named Timmy, and his pet guinea pig, named Ton, on account of he such a plump little best friend of a pet.  And it is a tale of how they find a piece of the Moon in Timmy's front yard and they ride Timmy's red wagon like a rocket on an amazing adventure through the night up to the Moon.”

How cool is that? I’ve got a couple of kids and they’d be totally into a book like this. Mike calls this “a childhood adventure I've dreamed of sharing with everyone for a long time.”

I love Kunkel’s work and the promotional art at Kickstarter looks inspired. Go check out this fun little work.
