Tom Cruise

An agent for was forced into releasing a statement today regarding the actor after rumors spread through cyberspace that he’s dead. The story said Cruise had tumbled in New Zealand, suffering fatal injuries.

“This is completely not true. Tom is not in New Zealand, nor has he been there recently. This is erroneous and unreliable Internet garbage,” were the words from Jeff Raymond, Cruise PR rep.

The news quickly made the rounds of U.S.-based gossip sites before moving all the way to Singapore and beyond, putting Cruise in the spotlight for the first time in several weeks. Two years ago, stories circulated that actor fell from the same cliffs mentioned in the report.

, wife to Cruise, will appear on Broadway this very night to officially open her show, “All My Sons.” Cruise will no doubt appear in the audience, proving that he’s hale and healthy after all. It’s really his career which has been taking a plummeting nose-dive, not the man himself.

“I don’t love being alone like I used to,” said to Today, referring to her now long-standing relationship with Hollywood hottie Brad Pitt. “I met the right person.”

With her love life nice and stable (apparently in spite of what the media says), with her new twins now a well-established three months of age and a hot new movie ready to debut, what could Jolie possibly add to the mix? …How about another kid? Sure, she’s only got six (and counting).

Madonna and Guy Ritchie

Although Madonna and Guy both denied their marriage was over, the couple just couldn’t hold out any longer. Today - approximately three months after the splitsville rumors began - the Ritchies announced they are calling it quits.

A joint statement released by their reps confirmed the ongoing divorce rumors:

“Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time.”

In the upcoming issue of W, the world will get a chance to see intimate portraits of Angelina Jolie taken from a unique perspective. For this photo shoot (which took place just weeks after Vivienne and Knox were born), the man behind the camera was someone the subjects knew quite well: Brad Pitt.

While much has been made of the breastfeeding mom on the cover, the pictures within the issue - especially the ones involving the older children - are equally as beautiful.

From the word go, comedy has been a huge factor for the election season. From the astonishing 20-plus contenders to the hysterical primary debates, it’s been one heck of a ride to the White House - and it still isn’t over. shocked the world by jumping from unknown politician to media darling, but through the last few weeks the American public has had something solid to look forward to: Tina Fey spoofing her.

The two SNL skits featuring Fey as Palin have already reached legendary proportions, re-played by competing broadcasters and posted all over the Internet so that all might enjoy. “That lady is a media star,” Fey said recently of Palin in an interview with TV Guide. “She is a fascinating person, she’s very likeable. She’s fun to play.” And hilarious to watch.

Travis Barker

UPDATE: Travis Barker has since been released from the hospital.

Three weeks after surviving a fatal plane crash in South Carolina, Travis Barker is now opening up about his recovery process.

In a message posted this weekend on MySpace, the drummer - who is scheduled for another surgery today - shared photos from his hospital stay and thanked fans for their ongoing support. The long-time vegetarian also talks about eating meat (the proteins help with his recovery), the inspiration he felt after seeing DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) and the fine doctors who have been attending to him.

What do Barack Obama and Britney Spears have in common? They both have plans to deliver their own message in separate primetime specials.

To help promote her sixth album (and to show the world that she’s finally back on track), will open up her life for an upcoming MTV documentary. The feature - titled Britney: For the Record - will give fans behind-the-scenes access into the pop star’s life. Shot over a three-month period, the 90-minute piece includes video of Spears in the recording studio and preparing for the VMAs.

In the doc (which can be previewed after the jump), the revamped 26-year-old will also candidly address the craziness from the past couple of years. Britney hopes this special will allow her to tell her side of the stories.

For the November issue of Essence magazine, singer Beyonce Knowles finally opens up about her April wedding to Jay-Z.

Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas

What never officially existed is now apparently over. Attention tweens of the world— is now back on the market.

According to Us Weekly, the Jonas Brothers performer and his country singer girlfriend are now over. Sources claim the 19-year-old broke up with last Friday over the phone.

Back in August, the couple were seen double-dating with Nick Jonas and his girlfriend, Selena Gomez. The two (as pictured above) even sat next to each other - in public - at the 2008 Video Music Awards.

While I’m sure Swift could easily find another man soon, Joe supposedly broke the 18-year-old’s heart. Sounds like good material for a new album!
