Blake Lively in Cavalli

During her appearance at the opening of the New York Swarovski Crystallized Concept Store, Blake Lively admitted to selecting her own attire.

“It would probably help if I had a stylist, but I don’t. I enjoy the process. I enjoy scrolling through the shows or fashion magazines and picking looks straight from the runway. I also like to think of things I haven’t done yet. For example, I’ve never worn Cavalli but I saw this dress in a magazine and thought, I think I need to get in on this,” she told reporters.

While I admire that (and her supposed choice in Cavalli), I have a hard time believing that she’s just not crediting her stylist from the show. Call me cynical, but Lively’s name was unknown in the fashion world until Gossip Girl. Was it magic that suddenly gifted her with a great fashion sense?

Lady Gaga has a thing for outrageous hair

If Sarah Jessica Parker’s twins don’t make you feel better this week, perhaps the new hairdo atop Lady Gaga’s head will.

Lady Gaga was snapped up by the paparazzi in England today, leaving an AIDS charity event with a gigantic button that seemed entirely disproportional and illegal. Following up her hair bow and hair cone styles, the queen of (highly) questionable fashion was definitely aiming to outdo herself with this button hair look.

Drew Barrymore in Florida Marlins gear

Okay, I get that and Justin Long were dressed casually for a baseball game. I understand that the actress was wearing a jersey and shark hat in honor of the Florida Marlins.

But could someone please explain what was happening on the lower half of her body? (I’ll save my questions about the status of this doomed relationship for later….)

(Make sure to check out our other questionable outfits.)

Shia LeBeouf, Megan Fox and Michael BayBrad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

You know - looking like Angelina Jolie is not a bad thing…especially if you can pull it off. So why is bothered by the constant comparisons?

In a recent interview, the Transformers star - pictured here on on the

right

left with and Michael Bay at the June 14 premiere in Berlin - told Entertainment Weekly that she doesn’t understand why her name is ever linked with the Oscar winner’s. “I think it’s a lack of creativity on the media’s part. Because I have tattoos and dark hair and I was in an action movie? That’s as far as the similarities extend. I’m not the next anyone,” Fox claimed. “I’m sure she has no idea who I am. But if I were her, I’d be like, ‘‘Who the f—- is this little bulls—- brat who was in Transformers that’s going to be the next me?’’ I don’t want to meet her; I’d be embarrassed.”

So now it’s the media’s for fault for lacking creativity? Unless I’m mistaken, Megan just ripped off Angelina’s thigh-baring, peep-toe heeled look from the . If Fox doesn’t want to hear the comments anymore, maybe she shouldn’t emulate Jolie’s style.

Linda vs. Milla

For today’s installment, we have Prada’s Fall/Winter ‘08 favorite Linda Evangelista on the left and Resident Evil ass-kicker Milla Jovovich on the right.

Aside from Linda having perfected her makeup routine in under ten minutes, there’s not too much of a difference between these two supermodels, is there?

Chloe Sevigny for Opening CeremonyApparently Big Love star Chloë Sevigny is returning to her fashion roots. She recently made several remarks in an interview, heavily speaking about her desire to design a luxury line.

“I’d like to do something with a high-end company. You know, the way that Sofia Coppola did with Louis Vuitton. I thought it was very cool. There were no labels on anything. I like that. I prefer it,” she told the interviewer.

When asked by WWD about who she would like to collaborate with, she laughed at her far-reaching answer: “Hermès, maybe? That might be reaching a little high. Actually, NaNa would be a great collaboration!”

Emma Watson for Burberry

While Miley Cyrus convinces Max Azria to do a line for Wal-Mart, Emma Watson is receiving praise in the fashion world for her work in Burberry’s Fall/Winter ‘09 campaign.

Not unlike the British fashion house’s ad campaigns in the past, the Harry Potter starlet shows off signature Burberry bags and trench coats alongside models Tom Guinness Taylor and Charlie France (who surprisingly do a great job at making her look much older than 19).

As I am a fan of hers, I’m clearly inclined to give her a thumbs-up. After all, she’s been a favorite of Karl Lagerfeld for some time. That’s basically a golden pass for approval in the fashion world, no?

Oprah Winfrey Vogue CoverAnna Wintour, the legendary editor of US style bible magazine Vogue is making it know that she made a “gentle suggestion” to prior to her front page photoshoot in 1998. According to Anna, it was just a gentle nudge: “I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight. “I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trooper! She totally welcomed the idea, and she went on a very stringent diet. And it was one of our most successful covers ever.”

Oprah, 55, was featured on on the cover of Vogue, which carried the tagline ‘Oprah! A Major Movie, An Amazing Makeover’ in reference to her new film Beloved and weight loss. Anna has also called for better education to help halt rising cases of obesity in America. The 59-year-old fashionista - who recently commissioned a detailed feature on the issue - told : “I’d just been on a trip to Minnesota, where I can only kindly describe most of the people I saw as little houses. There’s such an epidemic of obesity in the United States, and for some reason, everybody focuses on anorexia. We need to spend money time and education on teaching people to eat, exercise and take care of themselves in a healthier way. It provoked, which is really the point.”

People are “little houses” - did you get that?

Justin TimberlakeI’ve always found singer/actor ’s fashion choices to be questionable at best, but GQ has a different opinion. Timberlake as been named the most stylish on the magazine’s list of “10 Most Stylish Men in America.”

Timberlake scored the honor thanks to his risky fashion and eye for trends (odd, because some of his hats were over in the 1940s). Other men on the list include Kanye West and T.I.
