The Oscars: Red Carpet Fashion
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Clothing, Fashion Police, Hair Styles, Red Carpet, Style, Photos,
For me, award season isn’t about who walks away with a statuette - it’s about what they’re wearing when they’re doing it. Who looked great? Who should have stayed home? And who stole the show away from the actual show? That’s right - it’s time for the Oscars red carpet round up.
Pregnant Jessica Alba arrived on the red carpet in a dark maroon, empress-cut waisted dress that gave her baby bump plenty of room. Everything was okay but the top of the dress, which exploded in a profusion of feathers that made her gown look less like couture and more like curtains haphazardly wrapped around her body.
Keri Russell wore a double-stranded necklace that somehow didn’t complement her shell-colored ball gown. The color wasn’t right for Keri, and the unembellished look didn’t quite reach the elegant look Russell was no doubt going for.

Sean Penn Steps Out with Petra Nemcova
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Divorce, Hook-ups, Photos, Paparazzi Photos, Rumors,
While it is refreshing to see the usually somber Sean Penn smile—am I the only one disturbed by the fact that he’s grinning while out with a new woman?
It was only announced back in December that the Mystic River star was divorcing Robin Wright Penn, his wife of over 10 years. Based on last night’s appearances with Petra Nemcova - a Sports Illustrated model (of course) - he hasn’t had any problem moving on.

Katie Price: When Self-Tanners Go Wrong
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Style, Photos,
The only thing you really need to know about this photo is that the woman holding the book is the same woman on the cover of the book.
(For the record, that’s Katie Price/Jordan - a model/celebrity from the UK.)

As reported earlier, Lindsay Lohan was the subject of a Marilyn Monroe-esque photo spread appearing in New York magazine. Lohan posed nude for Bert Stern, as did Monroe forty-six years ago.
Here’s the difference: Marilyn Monroe was quite possibly the world’s biggest star at the time of her famed photo shoot. Posing nude was risqué, even potentially dangerous for her career. Monroe’s shoot appeared in Vogue, which in the 1960’s took a whole new approach to publishing by focusing on fashion and elements that spoke to the sexual revolution of the day. Blonde, gorgeous Marilyn Monroe was the perfect cover girl for sexual revolution.
Here’s Lindsay Lohan: Gone from the movie industry for several months and with very few projects in the till, Lohan has to keep reminding everyone she’s a star. She’s got to get her career back on track - quick. Why not simply become a legend…or at least, look like one? By capitalizing on the stardom of Monroe, can Lohan find her own again?
I’m not splitting hairs, here. I mean, honestly I’m a Lindsay Lohan fan. But Lohan is not at all similar (in career, looks, love life or ability) to Monroe. What was incredible in the 60s is totally mundane today. Lohan does look great in the shoot…but can’t we get a little creativity from our so-called stars?

Tim Gunn Critiques George Bush and Hillary Clinton
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Clothing, Fashion Police, Style, Photos, Oops Photos, Videos,
On last night’s episode of Late Night with Conan O’Brien, fashion guru Tim Gunn gave his honest opinions on two big political figures: President George Bush and Senator Hillary Clinton.
The Project Runway mentor made a comment on Bush’s ill-advised presidential socks-with-crocs faux pas and then proceeded to call Clinton’s look “man-ish”. He also said her style reflected gender issues. Ouch!
Which politician does Gunn praise? Check out the video below.

Lindsay Lohan’s Nude Photo Spread
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Drugs, Drunk, Photos,
How do you get people to stop associating you with drugs? You get them to think of you nude.
In the next issue of New York magazine, recently-rehabbed Lindsay Lohan does her best to evoke Marilyn Monroe. The photo spread is practically identical to the one Monroe did back in 1962. That shoot - now known as “The Last Sitting” - took place just several weeks before the legend died…from an apparent drug overdose.
(Sorry, Linds - still thinking about you and drugs.)
Photographer Bert Stern, the same man who behind the camera forty-six years ago, said he wanted to work with Lohan because he believed she had “more depth to her”. Really?

Bai Ling Manages to Look Normal
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Television, Break-ups, Fashion Police, Red Carpet, Style, Meltdowns, Photos, Mug Shots, Paparazzi Photos,
You can’t exactly blame the poor girl. Valentine’s Day does tend to do crazy things to people.
Just this Wednesday, actress Bai Ling (Red Corner) was arrested at LAX after trying to pilfer a some magazines and batteries at an airport store. What would have cost the Entourage star only $16 earned her a trip to the local police station.
Ling, 37, now explains that her surprising behavior was related to man issues. She told E! News she had just broken up with her boyfriend shortly before she was scheduled to board her flight. Apparently she was in an emotional state when she lifted the goods. I guess the prospect of being alone on a romantic holiday can make anyone do irrational things.
Sadly, what I find more interesting than the misdemeanor offense is the photographic results. While some people may criticize her sad appearance, I actually found the mug shot to be quite refreshing. It was the first time she actually didn’t scare me. To see why I say this, check out some of her choice get-ups after the jump:

Barron Hilton Lacks Paris’ Post-Jail Flair
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drunk, Legal Issues, Photos, Paparazzi Photos,
After spending a long Tuesday afternoon in jail, Barron Hilton finally had some pals bail him out. (I wish I had three friends who could secure me a $20,000 bond.) It seems the DUI offender was being served a dose of tough love from not only his parents but his recently incarcerated sister.
To make matters worse, the hotel heir - already deprived of family funds - made it quite known he was obviously lacking the signature Hilton flair. One would have thought Barron had learned a trick or two from the day ‘Paris was liberated.’ Unfortunately, he was apparently asleep that night. His grand exit yesterday was reduced to Trick #1 in the Walk of Shame Handbook: “Put Coat Over Head.”
I must say - as much as I despite Paris Hilton, she at least worked her jail departure.

Last night, David Letterman had the honor of revealing 2008’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Marisa Miller - a frequent participant in the annual spread - was this year’s lucky cover girl:
Swimsuit Issue? That’s like saying the MTV Video Music Awards still has anything to do with videos.
