A Web site created on September 15, 2008 through Go Daddy calling itself Britney Spears Circus Leak has posted an audio Internet video that’s suddenly becoming the most talked-about file on the Web. Considering the subject matter, this is hardly surprising - but if you’re looking for the formula for online success, pay attention.
A single picture of Brit, a countdown showing the time remaining on the release of her album and a single audio embed is all it takes to make a site successful. If, of course, the site is offering up audio of what is purportedly a leaked track off of a truly unreleased album. The track, “Candy From Strangers” certainly sounds like it could be the work of Britney Spears.

Alec Baldwin vs. My Name is Earl
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Television, Meltdowns, Rivalries, Breaking News,
When Hollywood’s teen starlets engage in a feud, it’s usually over some hot young male celeb. When mature female stars squabble, it’s usually about publicity - and which one of them has a book out that talks about the feud. When well-established males in the industry start trading catty comments like a couple of kids…that’s entertainment.
Alec Baldwin started the brawl of the comments in the New Yorker. In Baldwin’s lengthy New Yorker profile, the actor launched into a gripe aimed at NBC shows My Name is Earl and Scrubs. Baldwin can currently be seen on NBC show 30 Rock, but after this one has to wonder for how long. When speaking of 30 Rock, Baldwin said, “if the show does succeed, it’ll be something of a [expletive deleted] miracle, because NBC hasn’t done a [expletive deleted] thing to help this show at all.” He further went on to state that NBC has “gone out of their way to wring the last drops out of My Name Is Earl and Scrubs. Those shows are done! They’re cooked! Yet they do a one-hour episode of Earl. You’ve got to be [expletive deleted] kidding me.”

Still attempting to make her new image seem genuine, Jessica Simpson has signed on to endorse a Texas-brewed beer. People, it just doesn’t get much more country than that.
Simpson is set to be the new face of Stampede Light Plus, as made by the Dallas-based Stampede Brewing Company. Other than the reflected glory and ability to say she’s really a country gal, Jessica will also get a 15% share of the brewing company.
In a statement, Simpson said she is “always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people.”

John McCain in the Spotlight
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Television, Legal Issues, Rivalries, Breaking News,
For a man who seems to shun celebrity, John McCain certainly has been in the media a lot lately - and little of the coverage has to do with his policy or his plans for the country. The republican will now get more attention for a wholly different reason…he’s being sued.
McCain’s political strategy, thus far, has been to undermine presidential competitor Barack Obama by calling him that dirtiest of all words - a celebrity. In the ads, McCain shows clips of Obama with his adoring public while the Jackson Browne hit “Running on Empty” plays in the background. Here’s the problem: McCain never got permission to use the song.

Parole Denied for John Lennon’s Killer
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Legal Issues, Breaking News,
It was nearly three decades ago when legendary songwriter/singer/musician John Lennon was gunned down in front of his apartment building in New York City. This week, Lennon’s killer was denied parole for the fifth time.
The parole request was denied this time, as it has been denied in the past, “due to concern for the public safety and welfare.” Lennon’s killer was sentenced to twenty years to life by the state of New York. The murder took place on December 8, 1980.
Lennon’s killer will not be named in this article, per the request of former Beatle (and Lennon’s songwriting partner) Paul McCartney and Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono. When John Lennon was shot and killed, the two asked in a joint statement that the killer’s name never be repeated or printed. To do so would only give him the notoriety which he sought.

Lynne Spears, mother to Britney and Jamie, is going to make sure she’s every bit as interesting as reality star and parent Dina Lohan. The famous mom has been working for many months on a promised parenting book, which was already halted (“postponed the book indefinitely” was the way the publishers put it) when the news first broke that Jamie Lynn (16) was pregnant.
The book will indeed be released September 16, but it’s now much less a parenting manual and more a juicy account of what it’s like to raise two stars. The tome’s official title is Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.

Bernie Mac Dies at Age 50
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Television, Breaking News,
UPDATE: You can read what many of Bernie’s friends had to say about his passing here.
Comedian Bernie Mac, the Emmy-nominated actor from The Bernie Mac Show, passed away this morning after a battle with pneumonia. He was only 50-years-old.
This announcement is particular shocking given the news released just a few days ago. On Thursday, Mac’s rep said the performer - who had been hospitalized in Chicago since August 1 - was responding well to treatment and was expected to be discharged within weeks. That claim contradicted earlier reports that the Ocean’s Eleven star was in “very, very critical” condition.
Earlier today, publicist Danica Smith revealed the sad news:
“Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital. No other details are available at this time. We ask that his family’s privacy continues to be respected.”
Our thoughts go out to his family.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the actor and one other passenger were involved in rollover accident late last night. A vehicle the Oscar winner was driving reportedly left the roadway and flipped several times.
