Miley Cyrus Doesn’t Like Acting
Miley Cyrus isn't passionate about acting.
The "Wrecking Ball" singer - who shot to fame aged 12 after starring in Disney TV show Hannah Montana - is no longer interested in appearing in movies because she hates having to pretend to be someone else.
"I'm just not passionate about acting, because I don't like to pretend to be somebody I'm actually not. Why should I put on strange characters? I prefer to show my true colors as the real Miley Cyrus," she said.
The 21-year-old star also spoke out to demand more "tolerance" in the world and admitted she doesn't understand how discriminatory attitudes are still held in the modern world: "I think a lot about politics. Despite the fact that it's the 21st century and America is so proud of being a free country, sometimes incomprehensible things happen in our society. There is racism and discrimination. I fight against that. I demand more tolerance, especially for homosexuals, who of course should be allowed to marry.
Miley went on to encourage people of her age to shed "restrictions" in a quest for "self-fulfillment," though she also acknowledged she is in a different position to most young women: "I'm not exactly a normal citizen. My profession allows me to run around however I like. Wild outfits or crazy haircuts are not taboo for me. After all, I work in the entertainment business, which I feel is a huge plus, simply because in this profession I can develop freely with no trouble at all. I'm also completely convinced that every young person has the right to get free of whatever's restricting them. Which is why I encourage everyone to go for self-fulfillment."
