As we reported earlier, Transformers 2 star Shia LaBeouf may not be at fault for the accident he found himself in early Sunday morning, but he is still facing DUI charges.

Seeing as the powers that be apparently don’t want to see Shia turn out like his fellow Disney stars (i.e. Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears), it appears as if his blockbuster-making pal, Michael Bay, has come to his rescue!

The Transformers director adamantly insists that his beloved actor was not intoxicated that night:

“He was not drunk. He was drinking hours and hours before… We had a little heart to heart the week before when he bought a brand new motorcycle. I [said], ‘Dude! You cannot ride that motorcycle! If you crash, you put 1,500 people out of work.’ He said, ‘Ok, I won’t ride it, I won’t ride it. I’ll just drive my truck’.”

As much as I want to believe that, it’s quite hard to do, considering the fact that anyone who manages to get to Walgreens in an drunken state has it pretty bad. I mean really, Shia? When are you going to own up to your mistakes? Both Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton manned up and served

very little

time in the hole for their actions!
