Taylor Swift might need one of her (ideal) prom dates to escort her to the next cafe.

Although they held hands and bought numerous cups of coffee around the Thanksgiving break, Swift saw her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal fizzle out by New Year's Eve.

The twosome -- last seen publicly together back in early December -- rang in 2011 from different cities. The 21-year-old singer spent the evening in Nashville while the 30-year-old actor was in New York City.

According to a source for Us Weekly, Jake was responsible for ending things. "He said he wasn't feeling it anymore and was uncomfortable with all the attention they got."

"He also said he could feel the age difference. Taylor is really upset. We told her not to move so fast with this but she didn't listen," the insider added.

No word from Taylor's rep yet as to when the song "Jake the Snake" will be released.
