Russell Brand and Katy Perry aren’t going to let an international incident keep them from being together… for long. Brand traveled to Japan over the weekend to see his lady love in concert, but he was in the country only a few hours before he was deported.

According to Katy Perry’s own Twitter, Japan is her favorite place in the world. Looks like number two on Katy’s destination list may have been given a big bump. In a later tweet, a much less enthusiastic Perry revealed, “So…my husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place.”

Yeah… that’s not going to happen. “It was for priors from over 10 years ago!” She reported later.

Brand handled the situation in typical fashion: with comedy. “It’s bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick,” he tweeted.
