After a whopping nine months together (that’s a whole pregnancy right there), “best friends” Paris Hilton and Benji Madden have reportedly called it quits. The news comes after a lot of speculation over the past few days. Back on November 15, the hotel heiress was spotted at event with ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos. Although pals initially denied a breakup, sources have since confirmed to People that the relationship is over.

According to Star magazine, Hilton simply got tired of Madden’s “controlling” ways. “Paris was fed up with Benji always telling her what to do and bossing her around. She couldn’t take his overbearing ways anymore. It was stressing her out. He can be very aggressive and he was just too much trouble,” a tipster claims. Their opposing views on partying was reportedly a large factor in the split. “He doesn’t drink and doesn’t think she should either. She felt too fenced in,” the source added. (Now did Benji really think he could change her spots?)
