Keira Knightley in Disturbing Domestic Violence PSA
If the violence reenacted by two random actors didn’t grab your attention, maybe this clip will.
Actress Keira Knightley and director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) recently teamed up on their third project together. In this two-minute piece for the charity Women’s Aid, the duo create a disturbing glimpse of the violence many secretly endure in their homes every day.
The PSA was, of course, inspired by the highly-publicized event between Rihanna and Chris Brown.

“I wanted to take place in this advert for Women’s Aid because while domestic violence exists in every section of society, we rarely hear about it,” Knightley said. “We may not think we know someone who has experienced domestic violence, but this does not mean that it is not happening.”
The ad will be shown on both television and theater screens in the UK.
