Jessica Simpson’s Opry Debut
Many tuned in this weekend to watch MTV’s VMAs, which rewards popular artists for their innovation in a genre MTV only barely still supports - the music video. But while many artists are trying to find their feet in an ever-changing pop world, Jessica Simpson is clinging to the traditions of country music.
If her dress, hair style and eye-grabbing cleavage don’t remind you of Dolly Parton, nothing will. Jess strutted onto the Grand Ole Opry stage for her much-anticipated Nashville debut - and today most of the critics are talking much more about her chest and much less about her choice of song.

According to People, some audience members were perturbed by Simpson’s choice of wardrobe - or, lack thereof. “I think she should have put some clothes on,” read one quote.
I actually think Simpson’s performance was pretty good, as far as that genre goes. Her song was appropriately twangy and her voice certainly wasn’t off-key…but honestly, her look was all wrong. Simpson looks older than she really is and it’s impossible not to stare at her chest throughout her entire number.
Don’t believe me? Judge Jessica’s country coming-out on your own by viewing the video below.

I think both Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood are great people, but a rivalry? Come on! I read on Perez Hilton the other day that someone accidentally thought Jessica Simpson was Carrie Underwood, haha, that would be pretty embarrassing, but Jessica Simpson hasn't really done much in 2008 with her career so far.
