Elizabeth Taylor Quietly Laid to Rest
Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor was buried in an intimate funeral service on Thursday. The Hollywood icon was interred in the famed Forest Lawn Cemetery, final resting place for many of the entertainment industry’s elite.
The funeral started 15 minutes after it was scheduled to begin, as Taylor requested that her services start late. She asked that someone make light of this fact, joking that “She even wanted to be late for her own funeral.” And her wishes were honored in a fitting, private tribute.

Poetry readings, led by actor Colin Farrell, and a trumpet performance of "Amazing Grace" were included among the services. Taylor’s casket was decorated with a floral arrangement of gardenias, lilies of the valley and violets. Approximately 50 close friends and family members bid the movie star good-bye in an hour-long service. The family arrived to and left from the service in 5 stretch limousines, but there was no official procession.
It is assumed that a more public memorial service for the actress will be scheduled in the future. We’ll bring you the details as soon as we get them.
