Disney Grooming a New Female Star
Miley Cyrus is getting a little long in the tooth by Disney standards, and next year will see the end of her hit series Hannah Montana. But don’t worry, the network already has a new female sensation to take her place - and potentially, her time slot.

Bridgit Mendler has already warmed up Disney audiences with appearances on Wizards of Waverly Place, JONAS and other programming, but now she’ll be the central star in her very own series. Good Luck Charlie focuses on Bridgit’s character and her siblings jointly struggling to care for a new baby in a house where both parents work full-time.
“We just fell in love with her. She has all the attributes of a Disney star,” says Adam Bonnett, senior vice president of original programming at Disney. Only if she can release an album, make a movie and cause hordes of screaming tweens to go absolutely nuts.
