Demi Lovato has abruptly ended her international tour with the Jonas Brothers – and the exit has nothing to do with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas.

According to a rep for the 18-year-old actress/singer, Demi “left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time.”

The Sonny with a Chance star "has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help,” the statement read. “Demi and her family ask that the media please respect their privacy during this difficult time. She regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future."

A People source told the magazine that Lovato “was bullied in school. She fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting. … Demi is taking control by getting help." Meanwhile, insiders tell TMZ that some sort of physical altercation with a female on the tour was the “catalyst” for her departure.

Drugs are not believed to be involved in the Disney star’s decision.
