Comic Lisa Lampanelli vs. The Westboro Baptist Church
Remember the church that wanted to stage a protest at screen legend Elizabeth Taylor’s memorial because she was an active AIDS humanitarian? Well, they’re not big fans of comedienne Lisa Lampanelli, either.
Lampanelli, an outspoken proponent of gay rights, has a show scheduled in Kansas this weekend, where the Westboro Baptist Church is based. The WBC is organizing a protest of Lampaenelli’s show, but she’s going to make sure it backfires.

For every single protester who appears to picket her performance, Lampanelli has vowed to write a $1,000 check to the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, a charitable organization dedicated to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care.
This is quite possibly the most wonderful idea we’ve ever heard. As Lisa said to TMZ, “It’s gonna be hilarious to write out the checks to the GMHC and have them send thank you notes to the WBC for their ‘generous contributions.’”
“Hopefully their jaws will drop so fast that their tree remaining teeth and Cro-Magnon foreheads will plummet to the floor.”
Totally.
