Britney Spears Returns to the Interview Spotlight

Britney Spears

This time last year, I was in a local bookstore pouring through the latest issue of OK! Magazine. I just had to read the behind-the-scenes scoop about Britney Spears’ photo shoot. How many times did she go to the bathroom? Did she really let her dog poop on the designer wardrobe?

And while those details are still fresh on every editor’s mind, OK! - realizing a cash cow is a cash cow - has decided to give the singer a second chance.

In this week’s issue, the much calmer 26-year-old sits down for her first interview in quite some time. Unfortunately, she pop star keeps the topic primarily focused on the positive things in her life (work, family) and avoids most of the ugliness from the past year.

As expected, Spears did talk a bit about her sons (who were nicely pimped out for the cover). In addition to learning that she makes pancakes and spaghetti for them, we now know what Sean Preston and Jayden James’ favorite movie is. “[We’ve] watched the Cars movie nine million times!”

And despite her sometimes sloppy appearance, Britney surprisingly claims to be a bit of a neat freak. “I’m a cleaning fanatic. Dusting is my favorite, and Windex-ing.”

But, thankfully, the conversation wasn’t all fluff. Britney did also address the other controversial issue in the Spears family:  her sister’s pregnancy. “I was shocked a little bit. She’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby. It was mind-boggling.”

So what does big sister have planned for herself in the near future? Well, she plans on releasing a new album sometime next year. “I think it is more urban. I’m writing every day, right here at the piano in this living room… This is my best work ever.”

Until that time, you can check out Britney’s recent work on the latest VMA commercials here.
