Chris Brown, Rihanna’s Father Speak

Today, one week after his canceled Grammy performance, Chris Brown finally offered a statement to the media. Although he didn’t specifically acknowledge harming anyone (or that the person in question was even Rihanna), the singer claims he is now seeking counseling support.

“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person.

Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds.”

The 19-year-old wasn’t the only person speaking out today about last weekend’s events. ‘s father, Ronald Fenty, also addressed his daughter’s situation.

In an exclusive interview with People, Ronald said the 20-year-old was spending time with friends while recovering from her injuries. “There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so,” Fenty stated.

“At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world,” he added.
