What If…Lorelai Gilmore Weren’t A Single Mom?

Here at TV Envy, we can’t help watching our favorite shows and asking ‘What if?” What if the characters had made different choices, formed different relationships, had said different things: how would their lives—and the show—turned out?
There’s a reason fan fiction is so enormously popular - viewers wonder this very same thing every day, and write thousands of stories detailing what would have happened, had their favorite characters found themselves in different situations.
Today we ask: What if Lorelai Gilmore had never had Rory? What if she and Christopher had been more careful about birth control, and Lorelai had never been a teen mother?
Since Rory was the catalyst for all the huge changes Lorelai made in her life, would she still have made them? Would she and Christopher be married? What sort of career would she have? Would she still have children? Would her relationship with her parents be better? Would she be happy in life?

Megan Mullally Takes On Daytime TV

Fan favorite Megan Mullally of the soon to be retired Will & Grace is moving on with her career: she’ll be hosting her own television talk show. No doubt fans will be thrilled, but we have to wonder - will she be using the same voice as she did on Will & Grace? Because talk shows require a lot of well, talking, and that voice is perhaps appreciated more in smaller doses.
Megan Mullally will draw on the talk show hosts she watched as a youngster when the Will & Grace star launches her own contender in the fall. “I want it to be a ‘best of talk shows’ talk show,” she said. “I’ve always been a big fan of talk shows, ever since I was a kid—(Johnny) Carson, Merv (Griffin) and Mike (Douglas). I think it’s cool to pull elements from all the best shows.”
The Megan Mullally Show will include comedic and musical elements, skits, field segments, and a band, Mullally said. But one thing it won’t have in common with many talk shows of its ilk is that she won’t be seated behind a desk. Although the actual set is still being worked out, Mullally said she’s aiming for something that’s “fresh and different.”

Oprah Reduces James Frey To “A Million Little Pieces”

Talk show powerhouse Oprah Winfrey has accomplished what Larry King could not: she got bestselling author James Frey to admit his best selling ‘memoir’ was largely fictional. The drama was increased by the fact that Oprah Winfrey promoted his book and was largely responsible for it becoming a bestseller. In perhaps the most dramatic Oprah episode ever—which is saying a lot—Oprah cried and audience members booed the formerly popular author.
In a stunning switch from dismissive to disgusted, Oprah Winfrey took on one of her chosen authors, James Frey, accusing him on live television of lying about “A Million Little Pieces” and letting down the many fans of his memoir of addiction and recovery. “I feel duped,” she said Thursday on her syndicated talk show. “But more importantly, I feel that you betrayed millions of readers.” Frey, who found himself booed in the same Chicago studio where he had been embraced not long ago, acknowledged that he had lied.
A sometimes angry, sometimes tearful Winfrey asked Frey why he “felt the need to lie.” Audience members often groaned and gasped at Frey’s halting, stuttered admissions that certain facts and characters had been “altered” but that the essence of his memoir was real.
Thursday’s broadcast, rare proof that the contents of a book can lead to great tabloid TV, marked an abrupt reversal from the cozy chat two weeks ago on “Larry King Live,” when Winfrey phoned in to support Frey and label alleged fabrications as “much ado about nothing.”

Jamie Foxx Denies Attachment To ‘Desperate’ Beauty Eva Longoria

It set fans and celebrity watchers abuzz: talented comedian-turned-Oscar nominated actor Jamie Foxx was seen hugging Desperate Housewives’ gorgeous Eva Longoria at a Golden Globes party. Eva has recently starred in a music video of Jamie’s, and the two claim to be good friends. But could there be something else?
According to reports, Foxx and Longoria, who is dating US basketball star Tony Parker, were seen hugging each other throughout the bash, held by singer Mary J. Blige, before allegedly leaving together.
The Oscar-winning actor has now quashed dating rumours, insisting he and the sexy actress are just friends.
Foxx and Longoria first met after the actor, who is launching a singing career, invited the brunette beauty to star in his new music video.
Last week, the actress, who plays cheating Gabrielle Solis in ‘Desperate Housewives’, also played down rumours of a romance between the pair, saying: “I did Jamie’s music video for him, so we’re friends. He has Tony’s blessing.”
Absolutely, we’ll take Jamie’s and Eva’s word for it. Although…Hollywood relationships have never been known for their stability. Could this be the newest scandal in the making?

Nike recently unveiled the new Vince Carter Nike Shox VC V basketball shoe commercial. The commercial features some of Carter’s greatest career moments, focusing on his fantastic dunks. What is unique about this commercial use of the song Slam by rap group Onyx played in the background. The song, which was originally released back in 1994, may now gain exposure to some of the younger basketball fans. Other Onyx songs ended up being synonymous with street basketball, such as their 1998 hit, Shut ‘Em Down.

The reality show star that everyone loves to hate—that would be Richard Hatch, not Simon Cowell—has now been voted out
by another jury of his peers. A Rhode Island jury has just found him guilty of failing to pay taxes on the prize money he won in Season 1 of Survivor. While being acquitted of several fraud charges, he was also found guilty of evading taxes on other business ventures. The 44-year-old is now facing up to 13 years in prison and a $600,000 fine.

Fans are still anxiously awaiting details, as no firm schedule has been set. The show will air on FOX.com and other FOX-owned websites. This novel idea seems like a probable hit…especially if Stewie has anything to say about it.
