Alanis MorissetteAlanis Morissette is in talks to join the judging panel of American Idol.

The 38-year-old singer is said to be "excited" at the prospect of joining the show, especially because it would help boost sales of her forthcoming album Havoc and Bright Lights, which is released later this month.

"Alanis is really excited about the prospect of being on the show. She has a new album coming out and the publicity would be great. She kind of disappeared for a while to get married and have a baby, but now she's ready to get her career back on track," a source said.

Alanis is seen by show bosses as a perfect replacement for departed judge Steven Tyler, who quit the talent contest along with Jennifer Lopez last month. "They have Mariah Carey for the diva figure on the show and Alanis would be the honest judge who could really teach the contestants important lessons about the music business. Nothing is signed yet, but they're negotiating and near closing a deal," the source added.

50 Cent50 Cent wants to star on Glee.

The "In Da Club" hitmaker thinks he would be perfect for a guest role on the hit musical TV show and hopes producers will write an original character for him to put his acting skills to the test.

"I probably would [consider it]. Depending on what the episode was or what they had planned for it. I'm excited... I just want to work. I want to play something different. Anything other than a rapper, because I don't feel like I'm working if I'm playing that. That's the easy part," the rapper told E! News. Glee has featured an eclectic mix of guest stars in the past including Lindsay Lohan, Ricky Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, so 50 Cent could become the show's very first rapper.

50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - branched out into acting in 2005 and has since starred alongside the likes of Robert De Niro and Bruce Willis. Although he says music is his first love, the 37-year-old star is keen for more challenging film roles in the future: "I have developed a passion for film. I still love music so I write music. I got a chance to explore my new passion for film. I've been lucky enough to get it right."

Jennifer Lopez on American IdolJennifer Lopez felt awkward judging American Idol.

The sexy singer - who recently announced she was quitting the reality TV show - is thrilled to be back on stage for her Dance Again world tour and says she feels far more comfortable performing to thousands of fans than she ever was judging others on the show.

"I'm a professional! And as fun as it was to take a break from everything and do that for a little while, this is where I belong. I'm so much more at ease on stage than I was sitting in that chair," she told The Los Angeles Times.

The curvy Latina star has credited the show with inspiring her musical comeback in 2011 and is thankful for the experience. "Idol was a catalyst for all this movement in my life. Talking to the contestants and sharing what I've learned over the years performing live and singing in the studio - it got me back to those things. All of a sudden I realized I knew all this stuff," Jennifer enthused.

PinkPink turned down roles judging The X Factor, American Idol and The Voice.

The outspoken 32-year-old singer said she refused to take part in the reality TV shows since "you can't be honest" and thought the public would hate her if she voiced her true feelings because there is only room for one "Mr Nasty."

"I was offered The Voice in Australia plus American Idol and The X Factor. I said no because you can't be honest.'' People will hate you if you're honest. Simon Cowell is the only person who gets away with it because he's got an accent. And he's a man."

The "So What" hitmaker - who has 14-month-old daughter Willow with her husband Carey Grant - has also revealed that being a mother is proving far more emotional than she expected and confessed she cries "daily." She told Entertainment Tonight that she likes Carey to take the blame for their parenting mistakes, joking, "I'm a perfectionist, I cry daily! I'm glad though that the two things that have gone wrong were Dad's fault. The first time anything bad happened he was like, 'Oh, I'm so glad it was me!' I'm like, 'Me too! I'm going to cry anyway though.'"

Danielle and Kevin JonasKevin Jonas thinks he and his wife have proven people wrong who claimed they got married too young.

The Jonas Brothers singer and his wife Danielle - who married in December 2009 - are due to appear on E!'s newest reality show Married to Jonas and says there is no acting in their new gig.

"Danielle and I are out here in New Jersey, trying to be domestic. You'll get to know her big, Italian family and who the characters are. And you'll get a look into the lives of my family. We're having fun and times are changing. We heard so much negativity when we first got married about how young we are. But it really didn't matter. We're happy. We knew that this was what we wanted and we pretty much have proven all those other people wrong. We were very honest. This is our life here in New Jersey. What you're seeing is what you get. We're not putting anything on for cameras or anything like that. You have to be open and free. [Camera crews] were just a part of our life and what was going on here," he said.

The couple also admitted that the show has helped them tackle their personal problems. "I think doing a reality show has made us talk even more about things that maybe we would not have talked about or just left on the backburner. I just feel like this made us communicate more, and I think that's important in our relationship and keeps it strong," Danielle admitted.

Rihanna and OprahRihanna has taken Oprah Winfrey on a tour of Barbados.

The "We Found Love" singer gave the popular talk show host a private tour of her native island when she visited her for a special in-depth interview for an upcoming episode of Oprah's Next Chapter.

The 24-year-old singer teased fans on Twitter by posting a picture of the pair in her car along with the caption, "Look who popped up in my hometown Barbados...Top notch."

Oprah admitted to being pleasantly surprised by the "refreshing" superstar and announced that the special episode of Oprah's Next Chapter will air in America later this month. "What a refreshing surprise she is!... Rihanna interview is August 19th. Didn't want to compete with Olympics! But worth the wait. She brought it!" she wrote on her Twitter.

Oprah was invited to film inside Rihanna's house as part of the revealing interview in which the star is rumored to open up about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, with whom she split in 2009 after he assaulted her. The interview will mark the first time Rihanna has spoken on Oprah's show, despite the bubbly host dedicating an entire episode to domestic violence after the Chris Brown incident.

Sharon Osbourne on America's Got TalentSharon Osbourne has quit America's Got Talent because of NBC's "discrimination" against her son Jack.

The showbiz matriarch was furious when 26-year-old Jack was axed by email from reality show Stars Earn Stripes, allegedly because of his multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis, and has now decided she no longer wants to work for the network. "I just can't be fake. It's discrimination and it was badly handled. It's time to move on," she told The New York Post.

Sharon remains under contract to NBC, but she isn't worried about any possible ramifications. "All they can do is stop me from being a judge on another network for five years," she added.

Last month, Stars Earn Stripes producer David Hurwitz claimed Jack was never hired for the tough reality contest. "He was somebody we were in talks with," he said. Both Sharon and Jack - who was first contacted about the show in April - admit a contract was never signed but insist the deal was moving forward on a verbal commitment.

Nick JonasNick Jonas has made it apparent that he wants to serve as a judge on American Idol.

"The rumors are true… I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol," he wrote on his Twitter page.

If hired for the show, the singer would join Mariah Carey - who reportedly signed on for $18 million - on the judging panel. There is no word yet as to whether Randy Jackson, the remaining judge following the departures of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, will return for the upcoming season.

While Nick has never participated in a reality musical competition, his brother Joe will be appearing alongside Nelly and Gloria Estefan as a mentor in The Next: Fame is at Your Doorstep, which premieres on The CW this month.
