On Gear Live: Samsung S95C: The OLED TV You Can’t Afford (to Ignore!)

Medium

Word is out: these three popular series will remain on NBC’s 2007 line-up. Oh, happy day! Medium will be back! Medium will be back! Sure, Las Vegas and Crossing Jordan are great too, but Medium is one of the absolute best shows (perhaps rivaled only by House, M.D.) on television today. Medium stars Patricia Arquette who portrays Allison Dubois, a real-life psychic who talks to dead people. Although the show was marketed on its eerie, supernatural elements, it’s the everyday, family elements that make it so special. Allison’s husband Joe and their three adorable daughters absolutely light up the screen. The best part of the show definitely centers on its ‘alive’ participants.

Congratulations to all three shows, but especially to Medium. Because Medium is the best.

L Word Marlee Matlin, known for her superb acting talent and bringing deaf characters to movies and television, will join the fourth season of The L Word, airing in 2007 on Showtime. The always intriguing, often controversial series follows the trials and tribulations of a group of eclectic lesbians, boasting such talent as a post-Flashdance Jennifer Beals and the annoying yet unbelievably sexy Mia Kirshner.

Word has it that Beal’s character Bette will develop quite the thing for Matlin’s artist character. We’re looking forward to seeing what this talented, gentle-eyed actress will bring to this wild show.

Law and Order renewed If only the good die young, then the Law & Order franchise must be very, very bad. All three shows have been renewed for the 2006-2007 television season.

The enormously popular, unbelievably long-running detective drama Law & Order, which spawned two equally popular series, has been airing for sixteen years. Even more impressive, it’s the longest-running crime show ever, and the second most popular drama among the coveted 18-49 age demographic. Wow. Along with the original, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Law & Order: SVU (the best of the three in our humble opinion) have been renewed.

It’s refreshing to see a network recognize quality, and the fans demand it. Your Sundays (Criminal Intent), Tuesdays (SVU), and Wednesdays (the original) will continue to offer at least one good show to enjoy. Looks like crime does pay.

Description

Perhaps she’s selfish. Or maybe she’s taking this ‘bad girl’ thing too far. Whatever the reason, Michelle Rodriguez, who plays tough chick and (ironically) ex-cop Ana Lucia on ABC’s Lost, has chosen jail over community service.

Rodriguez was cited for drunk driving in December 2005, just minutes before her co-star Cynthia Watros (Libby) received the same treatment. After enjoying the bars together, the women were left to enjoy some breathalyzer tests. They both failed and received DUI citations. Tsk, tsk.

Rodriguez seemed nonchalant about her decision to don some prison garb: “I kind of have to get back to my life, go back to making some money.” Of course, it wouldn’t do for this Girlfight-er to appear scared of a wimpy little thing like jail.

This news set off a fresh buzz of gossip among fans concerning the possible elimination of Rodriguez’s character, just a week after similar rumors erupted over Watros’ character. Neither the demise of Ana Lucia or Libby seems certain, but it does make you wonder if maybe the women should’ve left the partying on the island.

Prison BreakTelevision is increasingly utilizing other technologies to involve viewers in their favorite shows, and mobile phones are one of the hottest items to do that.

In association with Toyota, FOX will air Prison Break: Proof of Innocence on Sprint mobile phones. The viewer will be subjected to a Toyota commercial, then be able to enjoy a 10-minute mini episode. Charlie SheenApparently. Although the star of the popular sitcom Two and A Half Men has long been known for his bad boy ways, he’s claiming that his wife, Denise Richards, is much, much, worse.

In response to a restraining order filed by the seemingly angelic Richards, Sheen alleges that his marriage is absolutely miserable…and it’s all his wife’s fault. In a scathing interview on Entertainment Tonight, Sheen responds to his wife’s allegations that he is addicted to painkillers, gambles away loads of money online, and is quite perverted, continually surfing Internet porn sites. Ouch!

According to Sheen, it’s all a pack of lies. He says, “It is a reaction to a failed marriage, a reaction to some twisted desire, real or imagined, to hurt, to punish, to discredit, to completely torpedo, to undermine my perception as a responsible father…I find that as unacceptable as anything I’ve ever encountered.”

Oh, boy. This is going to be one ugly divorce. Should make for pretty good TV.

Lost Game

ABC has high ambitions: they claim that an online game version of Lost will be “the largest interactive game ever based on a TV show.” Considering the popularity of the mystery-laden drama, this seems entirely possible.

The game is entitled The Lost Experience and will feature a bonus storyline not seen on the show. Intriguing! Viewers will become detectives, collecting clues such as important telephone numbers along the way. As the show airs around the world,  each geographical location will receive different clues. Producers promise that anyone can play, even those viewers completely new to the show.

The first clue will air May 3rd, so pay special attention to the episode. Even though we lose patience with the sloooow build-up of Lost at times, there’s no denying this game sounds like a blast. Will you be playing?
