Sarah Michelle Gellar Too Old for ‘Buffy’ Movie

Sarah Michelle Gellar thinks she's too old to star in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.
The 36-year-old actress, who played teen heroine Buffy Summers in the sci-fi TV series between 1997 and 2003, doesn't foresee her classic TV show spawning a movie spin-off like Veronica Mars as she worries she wouldn't be able to pull off the daring martial arts stunts now she's older.
"I'm a little old now. I feel like Buffy would have a wooden stake walker. I'm not quite sure how that would work," she said.
The Crazy Ones star also admits she has her reservations about a big-screen adaptation of the series as Buffy originally started out as a critically panned, camp 1992 horror movie starring Kristy Swanson. Buffy was [already] a movie. See, I think people forget that. Buffy was a movie first, and I don't know if you guys know this, but it didn't really work! I see you laughing at me over there, but it kind of didn't work. We spent our whole first year or two apologizing for the movie. So, I think it would be an incredibly different pressure," she explained.

If there's anything that Sarah Michelle Gellar learned from her stint as Buffy, it's that she shouldn't give up - and give up, she hasn't.
A year after the demise of her CW twin thriller Ringer, Gellar hasn't let its cancellation stop her from returning to the small screen in a big way. The 35 year-old has signed on to join veteran comedian Robin Williams for the upcoming CBS comedy Crazy Ones.
The mother of two will star as Williams' driven, organized daughter set against the workplace backdrop of advertising.
Boston Legal creator David E. Kelley will pen the series pilot and serve as an executive producer alongside Dean Lorey, Bill D'Elia, John Montgomery.
No word yet as to when the pilot begins production.

From bloodthirsty vampires to dangerous mafia hitmen.
Former Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar will return to the small screen with the new CBS pilot Ringer, a drama where she’ll star as a quasi-fugitive hiding out from the mob.
And if that doesn’t excite you, maybe we ought to tell you this: there’s two of her.
Gellar will play a twin who has assumed her sister’s identity, and it seems the split-screen shot of the two of them standing shoulder-to-shoulder is inevitable.

It has been nearly five years since that fateful May night when BTVS fans witnessed the end of their beloved TV series. The following years, fans have intently watched as their favorite characters have branched off to new projects, leaving little hope of a BTVS movie, which so many “Buffy” lovers have longed and hoped for. Unfortunately, there are still no concrete plans of a movie, but fans have the Paley Center for Media (formerly the Museum of Television and Radio) to be eternally grateful to—they have announced a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion on Thursday, March 20th at the historic Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, CA!
