The tenth season of American Idol doesn’t premiere until January, but there’s no reason you should have to go without. The online auditions, an Idol first which was just implemented this year, are available for public viewing. Why wait to hear all the terrible singing…and, if you’re lucky, that rare moment of brilliance?
Of course, you won’t be hearing any soul-crushing feedback from Simon Cowell…but neither will any other Idol fans. View the video above to get just a small taste of what you’ll be hearing when you watch the online auditions.
Parents who absolutely don’t want their kids to
expose themselves may take advantage of the “Parent Takedown” link, which provides a short, pop-up form requesting video removal.

Didn’t get a chance to make it Nashville, Milwaukee, New Orleans, East Rutherford, Austin or San Francisco this summer? You can still audition to be the next American Idol … if you’ve got an Internet connection and a webcam.
American Idol has opened up MySpace auditions, allowing would-be contestants to submit videos of themselves online. There are less than 24 hours left in the submission window, so start warming up those pipes. Watch host Ryan Seacrest explain the whole thing in the video above.
And if you’d rather read than sing, be sure to check out all our American Idol 10 posts.
