The Situation Filming ‘Jersey Shore’ Spin-Off
Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has landed his own reality show. The Jersey Shore star has already begun filming scenes for his spin-off series, which will focus on the party animal's family life and his wild antics in the New Jersey suburbs.
TMZ is reporting Mike has rented a house during production which is right next door to the pad where his former co-stars' Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni Farley filmed their own spin-off, Snooki & JWoww.
Fans of Jersey Shore are already familiar with Mike's younger sister Melissa, who memorably enjoyed a flirtation with housemate Vinny Guadagnino, and it is thought his older brothers Frank and Marc could also make an appearance.
Mike - who appeared on British reality show Celebrity Big Brother in 2012 - checked into rehab for an addiction to prescription pain killers last year and has been on a mission to turn his life around and stay sober ever since.

Jersey Shore to End After Sixth Season
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Reality, MTV, Cancellations,
Jersey Shore has been axed. MTV confirmed the forthcoming sixth season of the reality TV show - which will premiere in October - will be its final season, but the network is to commemorate the end of the program with a one-hour special entitled "Gym, Tan, Look Back," on September 6. The episode will feature interviews with the Jersey Shore cast and a sneak peek of the sixth season, plus there will be a look back at some of the show's highlights since it began in December 2009.
The show has inspired a number of spin-offs including Geordie Shore - the English version of the program, which takes place in Newcastle, north east England - and Jersey Shore stars Snooki and Jenni "JWoww" Farley have gone on to create their own reality show, Snooki & JWoww.

Snooki Moves Out of the Jersey Shore House
Snooki has moved out of the Jersey Shore house because she doesn't want to be surrounded by parties.
The pregnant star - who is engaged to Jionni LaValle - is living in an adjacent house as she was worried about what people would think of her if she stayed, but show chiefs believe her change of address will provide new themes for the program to explore.
"It's not a prison. I know she's concerned about the perception of her being a pregnant woman in a party house. I think that's a common experience among a group of friends when somebody gets pregnant. This is an opportunity to see how she deals with it and how the rest of the house deals with it. The show has always been about following what's really happening in their lives," Chris Linn, MTV's executive Vice President of programming and head of production, told Entertainment Weekly.
However, he reassured that fans shouldn't worry about Snooki losing her humor now she is readying for a more sensible path in her life.

Italian Jersey Shore Facing Strict Rules From Florence Mayor
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Cable, MTV, Gossip,
The new season of the Jersey Shore, set in Italy instead of Jersey, won’t be anything like the reality show fans have come to know and love. The mayor of Florence, where the show is scheduled to be filmed, has set forth several rules that could completely change everything.
Mayor Matteo Renzi says that cast will not be allowed to be filmed in bars and clubs in which alcohol is served, and cannot be filmed drinking in public. Jersey Shore will not be filmed in a way that promotes Florence, Italy as a “drinking town,” and should be filmed in a way to promote Italy -- featuring culture and food.
Which means we might have to watch scenes of Snooki eating. With luck, MTV will just go ahead and pull the plug on the show right now.

MTV Approves Two Jersey Shore Spin Offs
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Cable, MTV, Gossip,
Looks like that 15 minutes is going to stretch to 30 after all. MTV is moving forward with two new spin-offs from their popular reality series Jersey Shore, and that means Snooki is going to be on TV for awhile longer.
Nicole Polizzi (Snooki) and Jenni Farley (JWoww) will co-star in their own series, while Paul Delvecchio (Pauly D) will headline a series of his own. Both new shows will debut in 2012... ironically, the same year the Mayans predicted the world would end.
Both projects have been ordered to produce 12 episodes and neither is set in the Jersey Shore. Pauly D will take his act on the road “as one of the country’s most in-demand DJs,” according to a press release from MTV. He will “chase his dream with the help of the best friends he grew up with in Rhode Island by his side.” Snooki and JWoww will “deal with life and love when the vacation is over.”

Why the switch? “Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us,” said MTV programming vice president Chris Linn.

VIDEO: Snooki’s Ball Dropped Anyway
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Late Night, Reality, Specials, Cable, MTV, Video,
Viewers might have been confused on New Year’s Eve, watching the festivities as recorded by MTV.
Snooki was present in Time Square, along with her fellow Jersey Shore cast members … but wasn’t she supposed to be in New Jersey? The reality star’s ball drop did go on the air as planned -- because it was recorded the night before.
Snooki’s ball was removed from Time Square after officials decided that only one ball would be dropping in New York’s famous block. Instead, the Snooks was dropped in her own hometown of Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
You can watch the entire video above.

Snooki’s Ball Moved to Jersey for Ball Drop
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Late Night, Reality, Specials, Cable, MTV, News,
There is only one New Year’s Eve ball that falls in Times Square -- and the city of New York is going to keep it that way.
The official ball drop will be officiated by Mayor Bloomberg and Dick Clark, a staple of the annual event.
MTV announced recently that Snooki, of Jersey Shore fame, would be dropping from a ball during their separate celebration, but the city wouldn’t have it.
Instead, Snooki has been moved, appropriately, to New Jersey. The ball arrived on scene early on Wednesday, with a large “Snooki” spelled out in lights affixed to it.
Who knows? Maybe New Jersey just started their own New Year’s Eve tradition.
