On Gear Live: 2024 Nissan Z Nismo Review

Sara TancrediRemember believing was going to be a single-season show?  Ever wondered how long the jailbirds could keep running?  Still hoping the series can eventually finish on a satisfying and climactic note?

Well it may put a damper on your Season Three viewing enjoyment to know an end is probably nowhere in sight.  (Michael Scofield) is already hinting that another two or three seasons could still be in the works.  WTF??  Let’s just hope Prison doesn’t run creatively dry like that other show, .

Meanwhile, I have to lodge another complaint against the series.  What does it have against strong women?  It was hard enough not to take it personally when Veronica (Lincoln’s girlfriend) was killed off early last season.  Now it’s being reported by TV Guide that Dr. Sara Tancredi—Scofield’s druggie honey—will soon be MIA as well.  It’s not known why or how the character will disappear, but I find the decision to be quite suspect considering actress Sarah Wayne Callies just become a mother in real-life.

Prison Break I’ll admit it. I loved Prison Break during the first season, but have steadily lost interest this year. The start of season two, I’d watch the show while doing something else… the last few weeks, I just haven’t watched it at all. I do get second-hand info from my husband and recaps, and it does sound like things are picking up again. But a third season? Honestly, what are they going to do for a third year? You just know it was more exciting when they were locked up, so maybe season three will have them back in the slammer? Creator/executive producer Paul Scheuring said, “It’s going to return to the fundamental conceit, to the roots of what the show was about.” Yep, sounds like they might be back behind bars after all. “They got scattered in the winds—their stories became separate and defused,” Scheuring said. “They will come back together again, (and) their conflicts and interactions will return.” Ratings are still going pretty well, with an average of 9.1 million tuning in each week.

Lane Garrison Well, here’s one actor that’s certain to have an E! Boulevard of Broken Dreams special. Lane Garrison, who had a glimpse of the spotlight when he played Tweener on Prison Break, has been charged with manslaughter, driving under the influence, and providing alcohol to a minor. In this case, life is imitating art, since Garrison has already played the make-believe role of inmate. Garrison was involved in a car crash that injured two 15-year-old girls and killed a 17-year-old boy in December. Today, Garrison was charged with vehicular manslaughter. If convicted, Garrison could have over six years of prison time ahead of him. According to his lawyer, Garrison was invited to a party by the teenagers and crashed his car into a tree on the way to there. His blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit for California.

Lane GarrisonLane Garrison, who played “Tweener” on the Fox drama Prison Break was involved in a car accident over the weekend that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy. Media sources are now reporting that alcohol may have been a factor in Garrison striking a center median, jumping a curb and striking a tree in his 2001 Land Rover. There were also two 15-year-old girls in the SUV, one of which was listed in critical condition following the crash. Witnesses to the accident said that he may have been drinking and the Beverly Hills Police said the actor displayed “symptoms of alcohol intoxication.” Garrison suffered only minor injuries in the crash. Names of the teenagers have not been released.

Prison BreakHooked on Prison Break‘s storyline? There may be more truth to it than fiction. Two brothers are alleging that Prison Break was their idea—based on their experience in the 1960s. Robert Hughes was wrongfully imprisoned and his brother, Donald, helped him escape. They were on the run for four years following the break out from a juvenile facility.

The Hughes brothers have filed a lawsuit against Fox, saying their agent had sent the network their manuscript in 2001, but the net passed on it. Donald Hughes, now 63, told the Associated Press, “It’s a classic case of the rich trampling on the poor.” No details yet on the damages and costs that the Hughes brothers are seeking.

Their story does share some commonalities with Prison Break—Robert, then 16, was wrongfully accused of threatening his mentally ill mother with an ice pick. Even though she later took back the accusation, the court ruled that he serve time until he turned 21. His brother, Donald, effectively busted Robert out of jail just two months later. For four years, they lived as fugitives—they were exonerated in 1968. Even some of the names and places in Prison Break are similar to those in their manuscript, the brothers contend.

Prison Break ATTENTION TIVO USERS:  IT’S TIME TO START FIRING UP THOSE SEASON PASSES..

The official start of Fall may still be a month away,  but fall programming for the major networks begins tomorrow.  Okay—maybe only for one network.  Forced to deal with the upcoming Major League Baseball playoffs, FOX is hoping to whet our appetites now by teasing us with their lineup.  Once we’re properly addicted, the network will then regular interrupt our candy intake with sports coverage.

So come this Monday, August 21, we will see the return of last year’s hit, Prison Break.  When we last left the convicts, the boys had just made their escape from the big house and the feds were still hot on their trail.  This season, we will see the addition William Fichtner (Invasion) as an FBI agent brought in to find the jailbirds.

Following Break will be the debut of another drama, VanishedVanished’s premise will revolve around a senator’s wife who is mysteriously MIA.  Those investigating the missing persons case will eventually discover that her disapperance has to do with a centuries-old plot. I wonder how long they can keep that one up??  I predict the show will be gone before we know it.

As for the rest of the FOX lineup—we will see the remainder of the premieres in the weeks to come, with the bulk of the shows airing the first week of September.  Then there’s The O.C.  The Mischa Barton-less show won’t even crack its premiere until November 2nd.  Apparently finding a waif to fit in her shoes takes time.

Prison Break With the announcement that Patricia Wettig will be leaving the series, many fans are left wondering how Fox can fill the void left on Prison Break. Patricia Wettig will be joining Brothers & Sisters, and John Billingsley (who plays Wettig’s brother—the victim of the set-up that framed Lincoln Burrows) is leaving for The Nine. Billingsly’s face was never really revealed on the show, so it was easy enough to replace the actor with Jeff Perry, who has appeared on Grey’s Anatomy and Nash Bridges. According to series creator Paul Scheuring, Wettig is “not out of the picture yet.” The plan is for her storyline—and that of the conspiracy to set up Burrows—to take a backseat during the initial episodes, as the focus now will be on the manhunt for Lincoln, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and the other escapees. Scheuring says, “In the early part of the season, it’s really going to be much more about the immediacy of having to get the hell away from the pursuit.”

Luckily, we don’t have to wait too long for the new season to start. Prison Break begins on Monday, August 21st.

Patricia WettigThe rumor mill is churning over this latest tidbit—Patricia Wettig, who plays President Caroline Reynolds on Prison Break, will be leaving the upcoming second season of the series. During the TCA Summer Press Tour, Wettig was on hand for ABC’s new series, Brothers & Sisters, and said that she would not be returning to Prison Break. Brothers & Sisters features Calista Flockhart, Balthazar Getty, Ron Rifkin, and Rachel Griffiths, among others. According to the Ausiello Report, Wettig said “I had to make a choice, and it was kind of hard for me to choose against my husband [Brothers & Sisters executive producer Ken Olin] and his good writing.” A Prison Break representative reported that “President Reynolds is still very much a presence [in Season 2] and her influence is felt, but as Patricia is a series regular on Brothers & Sisters, we will not be seeing her, at least in early episodes.” It will be interesting to see what becomes of her character on Prison Break.
