Aside from FOX’s early celebration of Halloween (and a shift in CBS’ schedule), yesterday’s schedule was pretty uneventful. By night’s end, the Eye network was tops with the viewers while the Peacock network was first in the demos.
8pm
- 60 Minutes (4.3/11 in 18-49) pulled in 16 million after a football overrun.
- Approximately 14.7 million watched the Atlanta Falcons beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football (6.1/15).
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (3.0/8) had 10.4 million feeling emotional.
- The Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror XX (4.1/11) entertained 8.6 million; The Cleveland Show (3.8/9) pulled in 7.7 million.

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sports, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Amazing Race, The, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, Ratings,
There may have been a wedding on Wisteria Lane, but all the attention was on Cleveland last night. Although they pulled in numbers similar to their May finales, Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters both had their lowest-rated premieres to date. Meanwhile, the debut of The Cleveland Show had the best 18-49 start for any FOX comedy since March 2003.
8pm
- NBC averaged 14.1 million, (5.4/14 in 18-49) for its Sunday Night Football coverage.
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (10.5 million, 3.1/8) was down 1.4 million from last fall.
- Approximately 10.2 million (3.4/8) watched the 15th start of The Amazing Race.
- The Simpsons (8.2 million, 4.2/12) was off 1.1 million; The Cleveland Show opened (4.9/12) to 9.4 million.

New Sprint Commercials Play Out Like a Miniseries
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, ABC, Commercials, Desperate Housewives, Gossip,
“They’re kind of like the old Taster’s Choice commercials,” explained Marc Cherry, creator of ABC’s Desperate Housewives. “We added a lot of wicked dark humor, murder and adultery and betrayal.”
The commercials are Sprint spots which were shot on the Housewives set and written by the show’s writers. Rebecca Staab and David Chisum will be part of a “murderous love triangle” in the spots, the first of which will premiere September 27.

First Look: Desperate Housewives Season Six Promos
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Desperate Housewives, Spoilers,
The ladies of Wisteria Lane are back for season six of Desperate Housewives, channeling women of the Amazon in their latest promotional ads.
Could the weapons they each brandish offer a clue of what’s to come in this season? Bree holds up a dagger; Gabrielle majestically looks down upon her sword; Susan carries the only defensive armament, a shield; Katherine possesses the brutal ball and chain; and Lynette has her grip on a bow and arrow.
Then there’s the other promotional image, offering more familiar fare with a twist…

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Jorja Fox is having a hard time staying away from the hit series. Despite “leaving” the show over a year ago, she made several appearances last season. Now Fox is scheduled to appear in five episodes of the upcoming season, including the September 24 premiere. Although we are expected to learn “where life has taken Sara Sidle and what brings her back to the CSI team in Las Vegas,” it’s unclear whether William Petersen will be included in that reveal.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
Desperate Housewives: Wondering what Susan’s daughter has been up to recently? Well, you will soon find out. Julie Mayer (Andrea Bowen) will be returning to Wisteria Lane next year…for probably more than just a quick visit. The network has confirmed that Julie, who was most most recently seen dating her professor, will at least be back for the September 27 premiere. (Sources say she will become a series regular.) Meanwhile, another young lady has been granted an extended stay. Maiara Walsh, who played Carlos’ niece Ana Solis, will be around to give Gaby grief for the entire season.
