Wicked Lasers Spyder II GX review

Wicked Lasers Spyder II GX

We’ve been playing with the Spyder II GX laser for a few weeks now, and wanted to report back with some of our initial thoughts because we hit you with a video feature on Bleeding Edge TV.

So the Spyder II GX is a military-grade green laser that is housed in a light, black aluminum shell. The casing seems to be sctrach-proof, and just looks good. With purchase, you get the laser, two rechargeable lithium ion 18650 batteries (the lasers is powered by one, you so can always have a spare charged,) a pair of green 532nm LaserShades (to protect the eyes,) and a universal battery charger. All that will cost you $1,699.99.

Sonar II Burner Wicked Lasers

So we’ve been trying to stay fairly frugal in our 2008 Gift Guide, but we’ve gotten a bunch of email from people asking where all the high-priced items have gone. We figured today we’d answer that with the SONAR II Burner laser. We’ve been playing around with one for a few days, and we can definitely say that it exhibits a cool factor (and geek cred!) Why? For starters, it’s a fricken laser. Secondly, the specific laser diode that’s in this one is the same as you’d find in a player. Yeah, a Blu-ray laser, in the palm of your hand. Sick, right? You’ve got a 405nm violet beam at your fingertips. Of course, all that power comes at a price, and if you wanna get in on the action, the Sonar II Burner will cost you $1,999.99. See? We weren’t kidding.

Wicked Lasers has put out some interesting products in the past (just check out our Blue Spyder II laser video,) but their Torch is way beyond utile. With 4100 lumens, it takes the Guinness cake as the most powerful flashlight in existence. Adjustable with a high-efficiency relector, it is encased in aerospace-grade aluminum. At a size of 57 x 230 mmm, the device does literally what it is called as you can see in the video. The light will work for up to 15 minutes on a battery charge. Frequent campers and pyromaniacs can find them for $299.99.
