Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Displays, Home Entertainment, Product Reviews,
The Vizio E-Series is a budget-priced television set, but don’t let the great price fool you. The E-Series has one of the displays in terms of image quality that you’ll find for the money, thanks in large part to the local dimming (which you typically have to pay a lot more money for.) Let’s dive into the features and design of the Vizio E-Series to see if it’s worth your attention.

Vizio M50-D1 4K HDR TV SmartCast display review
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Features, HDTV, Product Reviews,
This is the time of year where many are looking to score a new TV hopefully at a great price. This year, we have a few new acronyms that people need to take into consideration when making a purchase: 4K, HDR, and WCG. If you’re familiar, then you know I’m talking about Ultra HD, High Dynamic Range, and Wide Color Gamut. All three represent a very positive shift in the TV viewing experience, and if you want all three you can end up spending a pretty penny. However, if you are just looking for a nice display with a fantastic feature that supports all the latest standards, then the 2016 Vizio M-Series should be on your list.

VIZIO SmartCast P-Series: Affordable Ultra HD HDR Display Now at Best Buy
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Displays, HDTV,
I’ve been excited for the wide release of 4K UHD television sets that specifically integrate HDR (high dynamic range) to create an amazing picture. HDR 4K sets have been around for a couple of years, but have been very price prohibitive. Now, Vizio has released its new SmartCast P-Series Ultra HD HDR Home Theater Display, and has changed the game in the process.

Best Buy in-store events offering first-hand look at 4K Ultra HD
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Corporate News, HDTV, Home Entertainment,
Television manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Sony, and Vizio are betting big on 2015 being a breakout year for Ultra HD 4K televisions. If you’re unfamiliar, 4K TVs deliver video content at 2160p. That’s 3840×2160 pixels, which means it’s hitting you with 4x the resolution of the 1080p (1920x1080 pixels) set you’re likely already used to. Streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, and YouTube are already pumping out 4K content, with more to come. It all may sound great, but it’s really something you need to see for yourself to believe—luckily, Best Buy is ready to give you that up-close and personal look.

Vizio Co-Star Google TV set-top-box features OnLive gaming for $99 in July
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Google, Home Entertainment, Video Games,
Vizio has announced the Co-Star, its Google TV set-top-box that sets itself apart with two key bulletpoints:
- The Co-Star comes with OnLive steaming gaming built-in as an app. Just launch the app, and as long as you have decent broadband, you can play a ton of video games.
- Price: Vizio has priced the Co-Star at just $99. That matches it up nicely with higher-end Roku boxes and the Apple TV, and is half the cost of competing Google TV boxes that don't offer OnLive gaming out of the box.
Google TV has certainly had a rough time getting off the ground, and the Co-Star may be the product that offers it the boost that it needs, although we highly doubt it. If you're interested, Vizio starts taking Co-Star preorders next month.

Belkin ScreenCast AV 4 streams 3D over wireless HDMI
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Accessories, HDTV, Home Entertainment,
Belkin is finally joining the growing field of wireless HDMI devices with its new ScreenCast AV 4 Wireless switch, a device that pipes HDMI signals wirelessly from components to displays. The company just announced the ScreenCast AV 4 Wireless, which can connect four HDMI devices to a display through a 5GHz radio signal.
The ScreenCast AV 4 Wireless supports HDMI 1.4b devices, meaning it can carry 3D video and 5.1-channel surround sound, effectively making it work just as well as any HDMI cable. According to Belkin, the device has a range of 100 feet between the transmitter and receiver, and features an infrared blaster output so devices can be controlled when stored in a cabinet.
The ScreenCast AV 4 Wireless seems very similar to products like the Vizio XWH200 Universal Wireless HD VIdeo & Audio Kit and the Rocketfish 4-Port Wireless HD Kit, other products that wirelessly connect four HDMI devices to an HDTV. Both have proven to be capable of fulfilling their claims of a solid wireless HDMI connection between component and screen, and show that the technology is not only feasible, but consumer-ready. Belkin's entry looks to be nearly identical, but the addition of the IR blaster support makes it even more useful.
