Taylor Swift and Conor KennedyTaylor Swift has bought a house across the street from Conor Kennedy's grandmother.

The 22-year-old singer is believed to have splashed out $4.9 million on the 13-room property in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts after spending time in the area with her new boyfriend - the 18-year-old son of Robert Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy - in recent weeks.

A realtor confirmed the purchase of the house - which was originally "way overpriced" and listed for $14 million - to People, saying, "It's in a beautiful location and right across the street from Conor and the Kennedys. It's a beautiful home. She got a nice home, paid fair price. The house was on the market for two to four years."

Taylor's new purchase comes days after she introduced Conor, who she has been dating since June, to her parents in Nashville, Tennessee. While they were there, the smitten pair also enjoyed a date at a barbecue diner and onlookers said they couldn't keep their hands off each other.

Conor Kennedy and Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift has introduced Conor Kennedy to her parents.

The "Love Story" singer began dating the 18-year-old son of Robert Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy in June and she has shown how serious they are by taking him to her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. While they were there, the smitten pair also enjoyed a date at a barbecue diner and onlookers say they couldn't keep their hands off each other.

Taylor - who has previously dated John Mayer, Joe Jonas and Jake Gyllenhaal - has already impressed Conor's side of the family after his aunt, Rory Kennedy, gave her the seal of approval. "She's awesome. She's a great friend of all of ours," she said.

Conor has had a difficult time recently after his mother Mary hanged herself on May 16 in a barn near the family home in New York's Westchester County amid bitter divorce proceedings in which Robert won temporary custody of their four children, aged 11 to 18. He recently applied to be named administrator of his mother's estate, a request his father had no objections to.

Taylor Swift and Carrie UnderwoodCarrie Underwood hates being compared to Taylor Swift.

The "Good Girl" singer thinks comparisons with fellow American country star Taylor, 22, are unfounded and claims their music and styles are "completely different."

"I feel like we're definitely completely different artists; that is something that's so cool about country music because everyone has their own thing. I'm a little bit older than she is and I feel like our music's completely different and if anyone tries to make any comparisons they really haven't listened to either one of us."

The American Idol winner added that "Love Story" hitmaker Taylor has a different approach to her records: "Our songs are definitely different. She sings a little bit lighter sometimes and it's just a difference in our brand of country."

Taylor Swift Avoids John Mayer Run-In

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Break-ups,

John Mayer and Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift and John Mayer had a near run-in on Tuesday when they dined at the same restaurant. The country singer, 22, and John, 34, were spotted going for a meal at Tower Bar inside West Hollywood's Sunset Tower Hotel in their separate groups.

John told Rolling Stone this week that her song "Dear John," reportedly about him, was "a really lousy thing" to do, "cheap songwriting," humiliating and "bulls**t."

However, they avoided a confrontation over the matter when Taylor asked to be moved to the other side of the venue. A source told Page Six it was "drama central" when the she was about to be seated and noticed that her ex-boyfriend was dining with a friend nearby.

"Taylor very visibly -- in front of the entire restaurant -- demanded to be moved to the other side. The bar's usually an oasis of calm and privacy for celebrities and power players, but this was drama central," the insider said.

Taylor Swift Humiliates John Mayer

John Mayer and Taylor SwiftJohn Mayer was "humiliated" by Taylor Swift's song about him.

The guitarist was reportedly the inspiration behind his former lover's track "Dear John'" - which came out a few months after he was slammed for branding ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson "sexual napalm" - but he is upset about the record, saying it was a "lousy" thing to write.

"I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower? It made me feel terrible. Because I didn't deserve it. I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do," he told Rolling Stone.

Ed Sheeran Writing for Taylor Swift

Ed SheerhanEd Sheeran has been writing songs for Taylor Swift.

The "A Team" hitmaker - who has previously penned tracks for One Direction - was asked by the country singer to work on her new album because she is a "massive fan" of his own music.

"Ed and Taylor have been in the studio in LA a lot over the past few weeks working on new material. She's into her British music and became a massive fan of Ed before asking to work with him recently. There is a mutual affection between the pair," a source said.

It has not yet been decided whether Ed's songs will be released as singles, but even just a credit on an album track will earn the 21-year-old British star around $310,000.

"It's still to be officially decided how the material will be released but just a single credit on her album will be worth big money. Taylor's country sound is massive around the world," the source added.
