Unboxing Live 088: Plantronics GameCom 780

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Accessories, Features, Peripherals, Video Games, Videocasts,
We show you the Plantronics Gamecom 780 7.1 surround sound PC gaming headphones in this episode! Powered by Dolby technology, the Gamecom 780 delivers 7.1 surround sound with Dolby Headphone and Dolby Pro Logic IIx. The speakers in the earcups are 40-millimeter and provide thumping bass and immersive stereo sound. For chat and in-game communication, there's a built-in noise-canceling microphone that eliminates background noise so that the people you're playing with can hear you clearly, and for those times when you want silence (or when you want to remain stealthy,) there are volume controls and a microphone mute switch right on the earcups. One other nice touch is the swiveling earcup joints that make for easy storage. You can pick up the Plantronics GameCom 780 on Amazon for $79.

TweetCraft: Twitter within World of Warcraft

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Culture, MMORPG, PC,
TweetCraft brings two obsessive habits together, allowing you to do both at once. That’s right, my addicted friends, you can now follow your Twitter friends (like us!) while you play World of Warcraft, thanks to a handy little tool called Tweetcraft. Tweetcraft is an in-game Twitter client that lets you tweet while playing. You can also upload screenshots, and have it send out tweets when you log in to the game, enter an instance, or get an achievement. Yeah, so, it’s pretty much a must-have if you are a World of Warcraft-addicted Twitter fanatic. Hit the video above for more on how it all looks and works.

eDimensional and Ben Heckendorn have devised the Access Controller that can be played with one hand. Compatible with the Playstation 2, Playstation 3, and PC platforms, it has the regular functions of other gamepads, and also has modules that can be removed and replaced for any game or style. With 2.4 GHz wireless tech, the unit includes instructions for you to develop your own custom mods and accessories. Sales are on a first-come pre-order basis with a ship date expected of 8 to 10 weeks. Best of all, a portion of the $129.99 from some of the controllers will go to Children’s Hospital and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers.
