Pantech’s doublEye features Picture-in-Picture camera
Posted by Mark Rollins Categories: Smartphones, Handhelds, Portable Audio / Video,
Often, we find that when we bring you with news on a new mobile phone, we typically see the same features as other phones. At least Pantech‘s newest, the doublEye or IM-U490S has one unique feature: the ability to take still photos and shoot videos simultaneously. It does so using a Picture-in-Picture feature, and the phone has all the usuals, including a 3-megapixel camera, microSD card, 2.6” QVGA display, support for widgets, and about 130 MB worth of memory. It is available only in Korea for about $328 from SK Telecom.

Pantech Matrix Pro unboxing gallery
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Cell Phones, Features, Galleries, GPS, Handhelds,
We were able to spend some quality time with the latest dual slider Windows Mobile smartphone from AT&T, that being the Pantech Matrix Pro. If you are unfamiliar with dual slider phones, what this means is that if you slide the phone vertically, you get a number pad—but if you turn it horizontally and slide up, you get a QWERTY keyboard. Very slick. The Pantech Matrix Pro runs Windows Mobile 6.1, and is Video Share capable, which means you can beam video to and from the phone to other handsets, a feature that we think is the hotness, along with turn-by-turn navigation via aGPS. We will be doing more with the Matrix Pro, but for now, we’ve put together a nice Pantech Matrix Pro unboxing gallery, featuring 31 images of the new smartphone.
You can pick up the Pantech Matrix Pro now for $179.99 with two-year contract. We’ve got all the specs for you, after the break.

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cameras, Smartphones, Music, Wireless / WiFi,
Pantech has decided to bring its C150 to the States and AT&T. This 2007 iF Design award winner features an integrated VGA cam and MP3 player, Bluetooth capability, and GSM and e-mail support. At a slim 12.7 mm width, we found the C150s already on the AT&T site for $199.99, $49.99 less with a two year contract, an order online discount for $49.99, and free with any new subscription. It seems these days that phone companies will go to extreme lengths to compete for our business, so we get to pick and choose for a change.
