7th generation iPod nano to bring back camera?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Cameras, Rumors,

iPod nano 7 camera

The seventh-generation iPod nano might have some new bells and whistles. Apparently, the forthcoming iPod nano could feature a camera.

The report came from a post originally published to Chinese site Apple.pro that said Apple would retain the same compact size of the sixth-generation nano, but would add a camera to the music player.

The fifth-generation iPod nano was larger; it included a video camera, widescreen display, and video playback. For the current sixth generation nano, Apple stripped the device of the aforementioned features, made it smaller, and added a belt clip and a multitouch display.

For the seventh generation device, Apple will maintain the smaller design, but will add a camera again.

Dreamcast VMU case for iPod Nano

ipod nano dreamcast vmu

There’s still a bit of Dreamcast nostalgia left around in the air circulating from it’s recent 11th anniversary and revival on Xbox Live and PSN. So what else can you do to pay tribute to that great system that died before its time? How about encasing your new in the VMU? It may be a bit bulky in comparison to the nano, but its a cool way of showing off your Sega pride and general geekery. Imagine the look on peoples’ faces when you pull a VMU out of your pocket and nonchalantly start touching the screen and playing music. Priceless.

Check out the video after the jump.

iPod nano redesign: Multitouch, tiny, $149 8GB, $179 16GB

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Portable Audio / Video,

iPod nano multitouch

In addition to all the other news coming out of Apple’s , the company announced a complete redesign of the . The click-wheel is gone, as is a lot of the display size, as Apple instead focused on making this thing more like an iPod shuffle with a multitouch display. The new nano is 46% smaller and 42% lighter than the previous model, and while it gains multitouch and what appears to be a modified version of iOS, it loses the video camera (of course, if you want an iPod with a video camera, the new iPod touch meets that need.) Apple says the battery on the nano will provide 24 continuous hours of audio playback, and the device is available in seven colors. You can get the 8GB model for $149, or the 16GB nano for $179. Pre-orders are live now, and they ship in a week.
