NBC Programs No Longer Available Via iTunes
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: NBC, Heroes, The Office, Announcements, Video,
Forget to Tivo the latest episode of The Office? Lose this week’s Heroes due to a power outage? If you find yourself in one of these predicaments this fall, don’t be looking to iTunes to save your butt.
A dispute over money has severed ties between the Peacock Network and Apple. It’s reported that NBC Universal wanted a dramatic price increase for their shows in their latest contract (over twice the wholesale cost). According to Apple, this would have raised the consumer price-per-show from $1.99 to $4.99. Although the current agreement expires at the end of 2007, Apple has elected to stop offering any new NBC programs before the 2007-08 season even begins.
It’ll be interesting to see which side, if any, caves in first. Though NBC’s programming accounts for approximately 40% of iTunes’ video downloads, many of its shows have greatly benefited by this popular viewing method. And let’s not forget—NBC is still considered the fourth place network.

While the release of the newly redesigned aluminum and glass iMac have been fantastic, the fact that they ship with just 1 GB of RAM by default isn’t so exciting. We knew immediately that this called for a RAM upgrade in the iMac, and we were happy to find that installation has gotten easier and easier as new iMac models are released (although there is a particular spot of trouble, which is featured at the end of the video in the outtakes.) In the past, we been both disappointed and delighted with iMac RAM installation. In this episode, we show you how to upgrade the RAM in the new iMac in a step-by-step manner - at a far less expensive price than you would have to pay Apple to do it. Hit the video for the full scoop.

One unique aspect of the iPhone is that you, as the buyer, get to activate it yourself using iTunes, rather than having the phone activated in-store. We figured we would activate the phone on camera to show how seamless (or non-seamless, depending on how you look at it) the iPhone activation experience is. Watch the video, and let us know what you think.
E3 2007: Blue Dragon Demo Available for Download NOW
Posted by Michael Cardiff Categories: Release Dates, Role Playing Games, Xbox 360, Xbox Live Marketplace,
For all of you out there that HAVEN’T been furiously searching through the Xbox Live Marketplace for new content, the fact that the Blue Dragon demo is now live may have passed you by. Well, that’s why we’re here. Don’t you love us?
Downloads seem to be a little slow right now (I’m at about 11%), and the fact that tons of new video content from Disney is also available now probably isn’t helping. Speaking of which, on an aside rant, how in the HELL did Microsoft convince Disney to allow HD Disney content on Xbox Live? I mean, Disney is staunchly pro-Blu-Ray, putting them in the camp of top Microsoft competitors Sony and Apple. And Steve Jobs is on the board of directors of Disney for chrissake! I guess all that D Conference “Steve Jobs and Bill Gates sittin’ in a tree” stuff wasn’t just for show.
Anyway, yeah… go downlad the Blue Dragon demo now!
