DescriptionSquare-Enix has released a partial list of American voice actors for its upcoming Kingdom Hearts II.

- Haley Joel Osment as Sora
- David Gallagher as Riku
- Hayden Panettier as Kairi
- Jesse McCartney as Roxas
- Britany Snow as Namine
- Christopher Lee as DiZ
- Steve Burton as Cloud
- Rachael Leigh Cook as Tifa
- Mena Suvari as Aerith
- Hedy Buress as Yuna
- Tara Strong as Rikku
- Gwendoline Yeo as Paine
- Ming-Na as Mulan
- James Woods as Hades
- Zach Braff as Chicken Little

KHII is due out in North America on March 28th and is sure to be a hit. If you played the first title in the series, you probably can’t wait to get your hands on its sequel. As for the voice actors, it looks like we’ve got a good amount of returners - including Haley Joel. I’m glad to see James Woods is back as Hades but I am a little disappointed to see that Chicken Little will make an appearance in the game. In all honesty, Chicken Little wasn’t the best Disney movie, so my hopes aren’t too high for his section of the game. Of course, Square could always do wonders with it so, I’ll just wait and see.

State of Emergency 2

Maybe I shouldn’t be posting this, but State of Emergency has gone gold. The game isn’t even Rockstar’s anymore but I still have an extremely bad taste in my mouth from the first title. It was a huge disappointment and was definitely overrated by the media. But hey, maybe you’re willing to give the new publisher, SouthPeak Interactive a chance.

Taking place four years after the events of the first game, the story follows returning character Spanky MacNeil as he and the rest of the Freedom Movement wage war against “The Corporation” and its oppressive dictatorship. Many new game-play elements such as a reputation system, gang control, interrogation, driving and flying vehicles add to the fun. Gamers can also bang out in 1-4 man multiplayer modes such as Last Man Standing and Battle modes.

Hopefully you’ve got enough of a backlog of quality games from the holidays that you’re not even considering getting this one. I’m willing to bet that SOE2 won’t be overrated - the media’s hopefully learned from its mistake. SOE2 is due out on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.

Burnout Revenge

Gamespot reports that EA’s 360 version of Burnout Revenge will be released in just a little over a month. We already know the game looks hot but we’re honestly a little skeptical about how the overall game will turn out - after all, gameplay still matters in the next-gen!

In the meantime, we’re hoping EA releases a demo of the game on Xbox Live.

Halo 3A GameStop insider claims that he received word via a company e-mail that Halo 3 won’t be coming in 2006.

In fact, here’s exactly what the reported e-mail says:
“Microsoft has stated that Halo 3 WILL NOT be released in 2006.”

Personally I don’t believe it. We all know that if Microsoft can get Halo 3 out the door in 2006, they will. But even if the game won’t make it out this year, why would Microsoft already be telling Gamestop? Telling Gamestop to forget about Halo 3 in ‘06 would kill hype for Halo 3, along with the 360, and probably lead more people to begin pre-ordering PS3s, and not purchase 360s, since they won’t be planning on needing a new Xbox for Halo 3 this year.

What’s with these Gamestop employees and rumors?

MGS3A free DVD is slated to come with any MGS3: Subsistence pre-order. The DVD, entitled ‘Metal Gear Saga,’ interviews with some of the folks who made the game, concept art, and easter eggs. The game ships March 18th. Although we haven’t gone hands on with the new edition, it’s looking great. MGS3 is one of our favorite PS2 games - and the additions to the game sound great - so if you haven’t checked the original out yet, either find it now (probably for a low price) or pre-order Subsistence.

DS Lite USAGood news for everyone who has fallen in love with Nintendo’s recently revealed DS Lite. According to IGN, the portable machine will be coming out here after it release this spring in Japan. It’s unfortunate that we’re going to have to wait longer to get it, but we’re still glad it’s coming out here. Of course there’s always the option of importing.

Full Auto DemoEarlier today, we were pleasantly surprised to log into Xbox Live and discover that SEGA’s Full Auto demo had been released. After a few minutes of downloading, we jumped right into the game. The main concept behind the game is this: get behind the wheel of a car and race to the finish line - while firing weapons at your opponents, utilizing boost, and gaining air.

Unfortunately, the play experience wasn’t as smooth as you’d hope it’d be. Reportedly, some 360s freeze when the game’s booted up. We didn’t have a problem with freezing though, and we doubt most people will. However, while the gameplay is a lot more polished than what was shown at E3 last year, it’s still not great. The frame-rate isn’t perfect and the controls seem off. Additionally, the game simply doesn’t have the sense of speed that other great races have. Still, the demo’s free and you might as well check it out. Full Auto hits February 14th.

PS3 Launch TitlesWhile we haven’t heard any real news from Sony on PS3 in quite a while, the company has updated its Japanese PlayStation website with a brief list of supposed PS3 launch titles. As always, these release dates are only temporary but you’ve got to wonder, why would Sony list these games unless they really are going to be launch titles?

The list:

  • The Eye of Judgment
  • Genji 2
  • Angel Rings
  • Monster Carnival
  • Everybody’s Golf 5
  • Gran Turismo Series

Honestly though, most of the titles don’t look interesting at all. However, Hot Shots Golf 5 (Everybody’s Golf 5) could very well end up being a stellar game, especially considering how top-notch the earlier games in the series have been. Additionally, it’s interesting to see the “Gran Turismo Series” listed - but what does it mean? We’re almost positive that GT6 wouldn’t be ready for release so soon, but perhaps we can expect a GT mega-pack featuring all five previous games updated for the PS3?

DescriptionNext Generation has posted a nice (although somewhat short) article on some games scheduled to come out this year on Microsoft consoles. In fact, 5 of the games are 360 titles while one is an original Xbox title that’s also coming for PS2. The list follows.

Xbox

Lost Odyssey
Full Auto
Halo 3
Gears of War
Elder Scrolls: Oblivions

Xbox

Black

While it’s unfortunate that the list isn’t any longer, each of those titles are expected to be big. Still, a lot more games are scheduled to come out this year on Microsoft consoles - especially the 360 - so do you think anything’s missing from the list?
