Spinn

We dig that PMPs are finally becoming smaller and more affordable. iRiver has finally released their Spinn with its 3.3-inch AMOLED screen. It supports MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, and ASF audio, MPEG4, WM9, and WMA video, DMB, radio, and flash. The Spinn weighs a mere 70g and is available in both a 4GB model for 259000 (~$255.00) and an 8GB version for KRW 299000 (~$294.00.) Contact iRiver for availabilty in your area.

HoverboardNow you get a piece of “Back to the Future” with one of the original Mattel Hoverboards used in the film. It is in used but good condition and made of hand painted wood and metal with textured styling. It features a rear ball bearing-mounted footpad that rotates 360º and the bottom “magnet plates.” Available on eBay until August 1, you have to be a super Marty McFly fan as they are expecting bids between $30,000 and $50,000.

VCR 2 PC

Time to phase out those old VHS tapes? Ion-Audio’s VCR 2 PC is a clever way to do just that. Hook it up to your USB port and the included EZ VHS Converter software allows you to burn them to DVD, so that you can watch them on your PC, PSP, or iPod. You can also connect your VHS, VHS-C, or 8mm camcorder via the front panel jacks to save anything on them. After you have finished creating your digital library, the VCR 2 PC doubles as a player. You can find them for $249.99.

Here’s what we are thinking. Not to like Star Wars is practically like being anti-American. But the thing that is best about the series is how the fantasy is made better by turning it into a reality. But in this new movie, even Yoda is a bit too creepy. If you haven’t yet seen the trailer for Clone Wars, take a peek, and decide for yourself if it is worth paying outrageous ticket and popcorn prices to see on its August 15 debut. We think we may wait for the video to come out and catch another screening of Wall-E.

The Giant BuddhasApparently Netflix is closing down their Red Envelope Entertainment division. It had invested in more than 100 films including “John Waters: This Filthy World,” “Sherry Baby,” and “The Giant Buddhas” (which we just saw and highly recommend.) Over 75 employees will lose their jobs because of the change. One of the reasons we dig Netflix is because they feature Indy films, so maybe we can deluge the company with e-mails and save them.

Dark Knight Launcher

We had to pay homage to “The Dark Knight” release today and thought that the Grappling Launcher seemed appropriate. The 12-inch prop replica is 6 x 7 x 12-inches and is hand-painted on cold-cast porcelain. Mounted on a display base, the Limited Edition of 1500 included a Certificate of Authenticity and comes in its own fancy box for £89.99 (~$180.00) with free delivery. We suspect that anything coming out of this movie will be a decent collector’s item and worth the expense.

Sing It logoDisney Interactive Studios is pretty clever by appealing to the tween market with their karaoke video game called “Disney Sing It.” Featured are 35 songs from the movies such as “Camp Rock,” and “High School Musical,” and artists like Miley Cyrus and Jesse McCartney. Available in October for Xbox 360, Playstation 2 & 3, Nintendo Wii, and Windows-based PCs, there are multi-player modes that include duet and team competition. We predict this to be a hot seller for the holiday season, so you might want to grab one as soon as it’s released.

Offering discounts, it includes categories of shopping, travel, games, music, movies, interaction, sharing and learning. The deal here is that if you are a Dell customer, you get a discount of up to 50% on purchases from Kodak, Wild Games, and Blockbuster, etc. While we are not all that impressed with the site for the general user, take a peek if you own a Dell. It certainly is not be convincing enough to buy our next computer from the company.
