Lala.com Music ServiceI have been using Lala for about a week and the service turns out to be one of the best ways to get all of your music from wherever you are.  The concept is quite simple, allow access to songs you already purchased and also bring a music store to the cloud for 10 cents a song.  You can further purchase songs for download at around 90 cents per song.  The best part of the service is you can listen to a full album prior to purchasing it online.  That’s right, full quality MP3s for free, as long as you are listening to them on Lala.

The library is over 5 miillion songs and is updated every Tuesday when new content comes out.  Lala also allows you to import your entire purchased collection of music from or any other music folder you may have on your current Mac or PC with a downloadable importing utility.  There is no monthly fee and all you need to do is sign up and you’re in.  You can then invite people to join and network, sort of like Facebook or Myspace, but it keeps track of what you and your friends listen to and gives suggestions based off what they listen to.  The whole thing seems too good to be true, but it certainly doesn’t disappoint.  This is one site that could provide itself as the next big thing in music as long as the RIAA continues to think it okay.

Michael Moore joins with Leo DiCaprio by using the Internet to get his political ideas across. The filmmaker is offering his latest movie, Slacker Uprising, as a free download. Not only that, he is giving everyone full rein to email, burn, air, or otherwise share it with anyone in the U.S. or Canada.

“This is being done entirely as a gift to my fans. The only return any of us are hoping for is the largest turnout of young voters ever at the polls in November,“says Moore. Sign up with your email addy on the Slacker Uprising site and feel free to donate the $9.95 price. And if you are looking for more fun concerning the election, check out the new YouTube videos by P Diddy and Justin Timberlake.

Samsung BD-P1500We told you a while ago about a Limited Edition Matrix Collection that comes with Nebuchadnezzar. Samsung must have thought that was a good idea and it is tossing in the movies (sans vehicle) with the sale of their BD-P1500. The 10-disc set was released today and retails for around $100.00 depending on where you shop. We figure that’s a pretty good deal considering the Blu-ray player can be had for $223.00 up to $299.00, again dependent on online retailers. Prices are only good through October 18.

Spotify

Speaking of EMI, the new music service Spotify launched this week. Other companies they are dealing with include UMG, Sony BMG, WMG, Merlin and the Orchard. Already in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Finland, Norway and Sweden, it will make their way elsewhere by next year. Download and installing is simple for access to millions of tracks, and you can create and share playlists with your buds. The streaming is free since it is financed by advertising.

RedflyIf you were thinking of investing in Celio Redfly, now is the time. The smartphone terminal allows email access, web site viewing, application use and attachment reading. Connection of the screen and keyboard is wireless but there is no OS, CPU or storage capability. The Redfly usually sells for about $399.00, but if you purchase before October 31, the cost is only $199.00. While this seems a good deal for those with PDAs who want flexibility, let’s not forget that netbooks are getting less expensive as well.

Pangea App Sale

Well, here’s something we could get used to. Pangea, maker of popular titles like Cro-Mag Rally and Enigmo, have put their entire line of apps on sale. This is obviously just going to be for a limited time only, but we can’t seem to find the end date of the promotion anywhere. In the meantime, just know that for now, the prices on Pangea App Store software is as follows:

  • Enigmo: $4.99, down from $9.99
  • Cro-Mag Ralley: $1.99, down from $5.99
  • Billy Frontier: $3.99, down from $5.99
  • Beer Bounce: $1.99, down from $2.99
  • Pangea VR Pro: $14.99, down from $19.99

A couple of these are fantastic for the money (we’re looking at you, Enigmo and Cro-Mag). Head on over to the App Store to start shopping. Here’s hoping this is just the beginning of App Store sales.
