Snoop Lion and Rohan Marley

Bob Marley's son has defended Snoop Lion following accusations he became Rastafarian for profit.

The rapper was heavily criticized by members of the Rastafari community - including Bob's former bandmate Bunny Wailer - who claim he turned to their way of life to promote his upcoming reggae album and documentary - both titled Reincarnated - and says his father would have too. Rohan Marley, 40, told TMZ, "Our father's name should not even be mentioned in this issue because like a true Rasta, he would have embraced Snoop's reincarnation and welcomed the positivity."

Paul McCartney with his son JamesPaul McCartney has joined his son in the recording studio. The ex-Beatles icon's son, James - one of his four children with late wife Linda McCartney, along with Heather, Mary and Stella - called on his father for a helping hand while recording his second studio album.

The 35-year-old musician is hard at work on his follow-up to 2011 debut The Complete EP Collection - which collected previous releases "Available Light" and "Close at Hand" - and his dad was only happy to lend a hand.

Paul, 70, posted a picture of the pair by a mixing desk on Twitter with the caption, "Having fun in the studio with James on his new album." James also tweeted about the studio session, writing, "In the studio with Dad having a great time working on the new album."

Justin TimberlakeJustin Timberlake is to make his live return with at a pre-Super Bowl party.

The 31-year-old star - who hasn't released a record since 2006's Future Sex/Love Sounds - made a sudden chart reappearance earlier this month with "Suit & Tie," a collaboration with Jay-Z, and is now set to perform at the DTV Superfan Stadium in New Orleans for DIRECTV Super Saturday Night show on February 2, an invite-only event which will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. The concert will mark Justin's first public performance in five years.

The singer-and-actor will release his third solo album, The 20/20 Experience later this year, and recently admitted he hadn't expected to release any new material when he returned to the recording studio last summer. In an open letter to his fans, Justin wrote, "So, here goes: This year is an exciting one for me. As you probably have heard through the 'grapevine,' I'm gearing up for a big 2013.  Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey with that thing I love called MUSIC. The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn't expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I've had in my career... Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process."

Jack WhiteJack White, Carrie Underwood and Ed Sheeran have been confirmed to perform at the Grammy Awards.

Nine time award winner Jack will take to the stage at the 55th annual event - held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10 - as will Ed, who is teaming up for a special duet with Elton John. "Buzzing to announce I am going to be performing live on @TheGRAMMYs ... Cannot wait! (sic)" Ed wrote on Twitter.

Ed's track "The A Team" is competing for "Song Of The Year," while Jack's Blunderbuss album is nominated for the Best Rock Album and Album of the Year, while "Freedom at 21" receives the nod for Best Rock Song.

Jack recently said he believes his debut solo has been such a success because he was tough with himself the whole way through recording: "I have an obsession with being hard on myself because I really need to feel proud of what I do. If I look back and see that I got the best engineers, that someone mixed the record for me, that it was just a bunch of people playing the parts, I couldn't live with throwing my name on top of it."

Snoop LionSnoop Lion has been accused of becoming a Rastafarian for profit.

The rapper - who changed his name from Snoop Dogg last year after becoming immersed in the Rastafari movement during a visit to Jamaica - has angered members of the community who believe his new-found spirituality as a gimmick to promote his upcoming reggae album and documentary, both titled Reincarnated.

Bunny Wailer, a former member of Bob Marley and the Wailers, has accused Snoop of "outright fraudulent use of Rastafari community's personalities and symbolism" and claimed the 41-year-old star has failed to meet "contractual, moral and verbal commitments," of their way of life according to website TMZ. Rights group Rastafari Millennium Council also expressed their upset with the "Drop It Like It's Hot" hitmaker - whose name change to Lion is thought to be inspired by the Lion of Judiah, a symbolic figure in the Rastafarian culture - in a seven-page letter addressed to the star.

Lady GagaLady Gaga still has "a lot of work left" to do on her ARTPOP album.

The "Judas" singer is preparing to release her third full length album - rumored to be a double - after her Born This Way Ball world tour wraps up in March. Producer and collaborator Zedd, who has been working on tracks with Gaga, told MTV news, "We've been working on it for over a year now. There's still a lot of work left, so we're definitely gonna work on this project for the next month. I did about 10 ideas, and they were all between almost finished songs up to the piano. And then when we were on tour together in Asia for almost two months, we had a lot of time to go back and forth and pick the ones we really like and work on them. But they're still all really rough - it could be five, it could be 10."

The US leg of the Born This Way Ball kicked off earlier this month and came to the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, where Gaga delivered a typically flamboyant show, with some 12 costume changes and elaborate stage sets including a meat grinder, her castle and the singer emerging by birthing herself from a inflatable belly flanked by fishnet-clad legs. She also talked about her past as a go-go dancer and how her friends used to strip in order to pay their college fees. "I'm really just one of the highest paid strippers in the world, naturally," she told the crowd.

Harry Styles and Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift has allegedly penned five news songs about Harry Styles.

Despite the "I Knew You Were Trouble" hitmaker only splitting from the One Direction stud last week, the singer has already channelled her anger into brand new songs about her short-lived romance with the 18-year-old womanizer.

"Taylor writes music in the same way that other women chat to their friends on the phone. It's been how she deals with her emotions for most of her life. Harry and Taylor only dated for a short time but there were very strong feelings, so it's been a tough comedown," a source said.

The 23-year-old country starlet is famously open about her string of A-list exes - who include John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal - in her lyrics, but refuses to reveal which of her former flames each song is about, with the exception of her candid hit "Dear John."

Pharrell and Snoop LionSnoop Lion claims he discovered Pharrell Williams.

The "Drop It Like It's Hot" rapper has credited himself with helping The Neptunes producer become one of the biggest names in music by taking a chance on him when he was up and coming.

Snoop first collaborated with Pharrell and producing partner Chad Hugo in 2002 on his sixth studio album, Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Bo$$. The Neptunes were formed in 1992 but achieved breakthrough success in 1999, producing the single "Got Your Money" for Ol Dirty B*****d, although at that time they also already had ties to Snoop.
