Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Artist News, Hip-Hop & Rap,
Hip hop couple Nas and Kelis are calling a wrap to their marriage after she filed to divorce the hip hop legend. The filing comes at an unfortunate time since Kelis is seven months pregnant, but as she claims in her divorce papers, Nas has been verbally abusive and cheats on her. Hopefully, the couple can keep the proceedings civil since there is a child involved and things go smoothly, both in the divorce of the couple’s almost six-year marriage and Kelis’ delivery.

Off-Key Beyonce Heard in Today Show Performance
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Performances, R&B / Soul,
UPDATE: The clip has now been proven to be a hoax.
Some things aren’t meant to be heard.
According to the Howard Stern program, the recording above was from Beyonce‘s performance on the Today show. Fans at that November outdoor concert were treated to a much different version—the prerecorded track she supposedly sang over.

Eminem’s Relapse Album Art is kinda hot
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Release Dates, Upcoming Releases, Hip-Hop & Rap,
We are looking forward to Eminem‘s Relapse album as much as the next guy, and May 15 is just over three weeks away, so the wait is almost over. In the meantime, though, we figured we’d give you a look at the Relapse album art, which you can find above. See what they did there? The album is called Relapse. So they made his face out of a bunch of pills! And the tag on the left says that it was “Prescribed by Dr. Dre.” Yeah, that is kinda hot.
Sugarland Gives Twist to ‘Sex on Fire’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Performances, Videos, Country,
Since I’m admittedly not a huge country music fan, I really didn’t know that much about Sugarland other than the song they did for Good Morning America. Then I heard Jennifer Nettles’ performance of “Stay” at this year’s Grammys and was absolutely wowed. Her voice and delivery gave me chills.
So when I heard the duo recently covered Kings of Leon‘s “Sex on Fire,” I just had to watch. It was not a disappointment.

Eminem Scheduled for MTV Movie Awards
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Performances, Hip-Hop & Rap,
So Eminem’s already released a new single, debuted a tabloid-worthy video and appeared in public at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. What could possibly be next for the Oscar-winning rapper? The performance.
On May 31, Eminem will mark his musical return to the stage at the 2009 MTV Movie Music Awards. The 8 Mile star was the first person - outside of host Andy Samberg - announced for the 18th annual event.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed which song he will be performing, it wouldn’t be unlike the network to park Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears in the front row for an awkward “We Made You” number.
The awards ceremony will come almost two weeks after the debut of Eminem’s new album, Relapse.
