Scott WeilandScott Weiland claims Stone Temple Pilots lied about firing him to boost ticket sales.

The "Sour Girl" band released a statement earlier this week, saying Scott had been sacked, although he counters the band had already organized a tour without him, and saw it as a way of promoting their shows.

"STP is not broken up. It's a whole thing to try to boost ticket sales," he told TMZ.

He added the band do not communicate very much, and said the rest of the group could never tour as Stone Temple Pilots without him, due to a clause in their contract. Scott also maintained the band is still intact and together. On Wednesday, the band released a one line statement, reading, "Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland."

Johnny MarrJohnny Marr is creating his own "archetype" with debut solo album.

The former Smiths guitarist admits he often disagreed with his former bandmate Morrissey, who was famously known for being a dominant force within the group, but is now enjoying having control over his career as he embarks on his first solo album.

The 49-year-old musician conceded that "you had two very different characters" in the band. "I suppose I like to have things my own way, but you don't think of guitar players as solo artists or collaborators. You're either the blood brother, standing together with your band members until death do us part, or you're they journeyman. But there is a world in between, which is being your own entity. Hopefully I'll end up being seen as my own archetype," he added to The Times.

After spending most of his teenage years in The Smiths - and splitting from the group aged 24 - Johnny had an "apprenticeship" in being a rock star as all of his peers were adults: "That time between 14 and 18 was very intense for me. I was around grown-ups all the time. I was in bands with men who had done things - taken loads of drugs and so on."

Justin TimberlakeJustin Timberlake advised One Direction to not take things "too seriously."

The 32-year-old star is a fan of teen heart-throbs One Direction, and admitted his past in boyband *NSYNC mean he can relate to what they're going through.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror newspaper, he said, "They look like they are having the best time. I can relate to where they are in life. I haven't really met them but they seem like great guys and I wish them only good things. I live my life surrounding myself with good people and people I can trust so I would say that's important. And they should never take anything too seriously."

The "Suit & Tie" hitmaker also admitted he spends so much time in Britain, he should look into buying a house ahead of a busy summer. "I should really buy a house here. I'm having the best time in London and whenever I do a tour I seem to spend the majority of my time here. I love the UK fans. I'm looking at my diary and seem to be spending a lot of time here this summer ... more than ever, I think," he added.

Justin Timberlake and Jay-ZJustin Timberlake and Jay-Z appear to be going on tour together.

The "Suit & Tie" collaborators have strengthened speculation they are planning a joint headline show, thanks to a cryptic posting on the "99 Problems" hitmaker's website. The "Empire State of Mind" rapper posted a photo of a stadium alongside the hashtag "Legends of the Summer," prompting reports that will be the name of the tour.

Jay-Z - whose real name is Shawn Carter - then posted 12 photographs of stadiums in the US and Canada, including The Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York, Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California and Rogers Center in Toronto, Canada, suggesting they will be the venues for the shows.

The news comes after it was confirmed the pair will take on headline slots at the UK's Wireless Festival, with Justin headlining on July 12 and his pal the following night. Speaking of their joint plans together, Justin said recently, "Absolutely, yeah we're definitely going on tour. We're still putting it together, but it's going to be a lot of fun. I don't know how much I should say [about special guests]."

Frank Ocean and Martin Gore of Depeche Mode

Frank Ocean has recorded a track with Depeche Mode's Martin Gore. The "Pyramids" singer has been in the studio with the electronic producer, as well as Christoffer Berg - half of Swedish duo The Knife - after he ran into Depeche Mode while they were recording their new album Delta Machine.

"Suddenly in the doorway, I sensed this presence, and I realized there was this guy standing there just watching. An assistant came up to me in between songs and said, 'Do you mind? Frank Ocean is here working in another studio and really wants to meet you guys.' I wouldn't have thought he would have even known who we are, but it turns out he's a big fan. Martin and Christoffer Berg ended up doing a track with him, which I think is going to be part of his new record. Martin did some electronics and some modular synthesiser stuff he really wanted," Martin's bandmate, Dave Gahan, told Entertainment Weekly.

BeyonceBeyonce has extended the UK leg of her Mrs. Carter Show tour. The "Crazy in Love" hitmaker had been due to play eight English shows in April and May, but following popular demand when tickets went on pre-sale this morning, she has now added a further three gigs.

As well as the previously-announced dates, Beyonce will take to the stage at London's The O2 on 4 and 5 May, and the Manchester Arena on 9 May. This takes the total number of shows in London to six and Manchester to three, and she will also perform two gigs in Birmingham.

Tickets for all 11 UK concerts go on general sale on Saturday.

Beyonce announced the tour earlier this month, just hours after her performance at the Superbowl. The first show takes place in Belgrade, Serbia on April 15 and the European leg comes to an end in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 29. The star will then take a month's break before returning to the stage at Los Angeles' Staples Center on June 28.

The Jonas BrothersThe Jonas Brothers are releasing their new single "Pom Poms" this spring. The American trio have already filmed the music video for the newly-announced track in New Orleans, where On Air With Ryan Seacrest reports the brothers reigned in the help of two cheerleading teams and a marching band from Southern University.

Eldest brother Kevin, 25, announced last week the group have finally completed their fifth studio album and will be releasing the record later this year: "We wanted to take a little extra time on it to make sure it was right, and we've been working for almost a year now on it and it's time and now we're back on the road."

Kevin and his brothers - Joe and Nick - are playing shows in Latin and South America at the end of March and are bringing their brother-in-law Mikey Deleasa along for the journey as their opening act.

Harry Styles and Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" is "100 per cent" about Harry Styles.

The singer had an on/off relationship with the One Direction hunk last year, with them initially splitting in April when he was spotted kissing a model in Australia. They then reconciled for two months at the end of the 2012, but split over New Year while holidaying in the British Virgin Islands. Now a friend has confirmed Taylor's single "I Knew You Were Trouble" - one of her famous break up songs about her exes - is about their romance.

"Taylor was crushed over Harry the first time they dated, and like she always does, she penned a song about him to deal with her broken heart. 'I Knew You Were Trouble' is one hundred percent about Harry. She knew he was young and popular with the ladies and wasn't ready for a serious relationship, but somehow hoped she could make it work," the source said.

Adele at this year's Grammy AwardsAdele is considering a residency in Las Vegas. The "Skyfall" singer may perform a number of dates in the American gambling capital rather than embark on a grueling world tour, so she can settle into family life with her baby Angelo, born last October, with partner Simon Konecki.

"Adele is top of the Vegas hit-list and she's seriously considering it as an option. She wants to get back to performing but doesn't want to go on the road so soon after becoming a mum. A Vegas residency would mean she could settle with her family and record her third album all at once," a source said.

The "Rolling in the Deep" star has reportedly been asking for tips from her friend Elton John, who celebrated performing 3,000 shows in Las Vegas in 2011 and continues to appear there regularly. "She's been asking for advice from Elton, who has spent years performing at Caesars Palace. Elton's been like a godfather to her recently, helping her settle into life as a superstar and the challenges of being a parent," the source added.
