Bob Dylan Bites Back at Plagiarism Claims
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Concerts / Tours, Gossip, Folk, Rock,
Bob Dylan has blasted critics who accused him of plagiarism.
The legendary musician was quick to defend himself about quoting other artists and authors' material in his own work, branding his critics "wussies and pussies" and saying they are the same kind of petty people who called him "Judas" at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival for switching from an acoustic to an electric guitar.
"Judas, the most hated name in human history! If you think you've been called a bad name, try to work your way out from under that. Yeah, and for what? For playing an electric guitar? As if that is in some kind of way equitable to betraying our Lord and delivering him up to be crucified. All those evil motherf*****s can rot in hell," he ranted to Rolling Stone.

The Green Day frontman is unimpressed with the rock icons' talent and says the "Livin' On A Prayer" hitmakers are the worst group he has ever performed alongside. Speaking about his all-time favorite band to have shared the stage with, Billie Joe told Kerrang! magazine, "The best is probably The Hives ... They're a great live band." But when asked about his least favorite, the 40-year-old rocker revealed, "Oh boy, I have to go with Bon Jovi."

Christina Aguilera Unveils New Album Details
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Christina Aguilera will release her new album Lotus in November.
The 31-year-old singer shared details about her seventh studio album in a Twitter Q&A session with fans yesterday, revealing that the record's lotus theme is a metaphor for her own survival and "rebirth."
"Album title: Lotus. Representing an unbreakable flower that survives under the hardest conditions and still thrives. Self expression and freedom [are album themes]. The album represents a rebirth for me," she wrote in a series of tweets.
The feisty blonde also hinted at what kinds of musical influences to expect from the album and promised fans she doesn't shy away from her trademark power ballads: "There will be a 'Lotus' intro to set the tone for the whole record. Conceptually I didn't target one particular sound/genre. There are some beautiful personal ballads on this album. I wouldn't do a record without them."

Brandon Flowers Changed with Fame
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Concerts / Tours, Gossip, Alternative, Rock,
Brandon Flowers admits that fame changed him. The Killers frontman says he began wearing eccentric stage outfits and acting cocky in the band's early days in order to feel more confident because he couldn't cope with the change around him.
"I grew up in Utah, and all of a sudden we're getting popular in London - the coolest city in the world - and we were like, 'This is not what we're cut from.' So I puffed up my chest and spread the feathers - that was my reaction to that. I do have a belief in myself and in the band, but it wasn't like that," he said.
The "Mr. Brightside" singer says that the days of his infamous pink leather jacket and feathered epaulettes are behind him with the band's fourth studio album Battle Born, but he doesn't regret any of his statement looks: "Getting more comfortable in my own skin and feeling more confident is somehow tasking the place of feathers and pink leather. I wouldn't take back the feathers. I felt empowered when I put that jacket on, it was a ceremony, I loved it. But I can't wear them forever. I gave them to the London Hard Rock."

Lady Antebellum Record a Christmas Album

Lady Antebellum have recorded a Christmas album.
The country group - made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood - is following up Own The Night with a festive LP entitled On This Winter's Night, which will be released on October 22. It will feature 11 traditional Christmas songs and one original song.
Dave reveals the album was recorded in the summer, and to get into a holiday spirit they decorated the studio: "We recorded this album in two sections, but both times were in the summertime. It is always weird to be in the studio working on Christmas music in June and July, so we decorated the entire studio, we really did. We brought out lights, fake trees and decorated the place to get in the Christmas spirit. You'd leave the studio, and it'd be 100 degrees out in Nashville, but nonetheless, a great experience."

Nelly Furtado: Being a Mother Has Made My Music More Joyful
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Hip-Hop & Rap, Pop, Reggae,
Nelly Furtado's music is more "joyful" since she became a mother.
The "Maneater" hitmaker is more aware of her surroundings since having daughter Nevis, eight, and says she has a huge influence on her music: "Once you become a parent it kind of forces you to look more outside yourself and become a little more in the moment, which is kind of great because an artist's life can be one of solitude. I find my songs become more joyful, fun and inspired."
Nelly added also said she is more "in tune" with the rest of the world, and produces more collaborations, rather than writing songs alone with her guitar. The 33-year-old singer spoke of her move into Latin music with her last album Mi Plan and how it has boosted her confidence. "I broke into a whole other world. I really felt like Alice in Wonderland, you know, just kind of falling down the rabbit hole. I woke up in a brand new world. Just creating in Spanish, recording in Spanish and performing in Spanish has given me a lot of strength as a vocalist," she said.

Justin Bieber: ‘I’m More Than a Heartthrob’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Hip-Hop & Rap, Pop,
Justin Bieber wants to prove he is more than just a "teen heartthrob."
The 18-year-old singer - who is well known for his teenage girl fanbase - gets "annoyed" people place him in the category and believes he should now be considered an adult thanks to his new album: "I feel like I just don't want to be another teen heartthrob. I just think that just annoys me. To think that's what people will - will think of me - or, like, I just want to prove people wrong. My new album Believe has really showcased what I'm capable of - especially becoming an 18 year old, and becoming an adult. And hearing older people say, 'Wow, this new album's great. Like I didn't know that was Justin Bieber.'"
Despite a legion of adoring fans and millions in the bank, Justin still dreams of one thing - a Grammy award. Speaking in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on Today, he said, "That's something that I've always - when I was little, like, 'Oh my God, like what if I won a Grammy?' That would be crazy. So that's one of the things that I'm still striving for."

The "Complicated" singer has been working with Nickelback's Chad Kroeger - now her fiance - on her fifth album, and is currently at the stage of mixing the tracks. "We're in the mixing process now and I expect to release it very soon. I'd like to get it out this year, but time seems to be flying. If we don't, it will be [beginning] of the new year. She worked with Chad Kroeger and they did a really good record," L.A. Reid, boss of Avril's label, Epic Records, told Billboard.
Avril, 27, and Chad, 37, met when they started working on her album together and dated for six months before getting engaged. Chad has said he feels like the "luckiest person alive" to be with Avril, and admitted he knew their working partnership was turning into something else: "I knew I was falling for her. It was incredibly powerful and something I'll never forget. I feel like the luckiest person alive because I get to be with my best friend every day."

Snoop Dogg chose Diplo to produce his reggae album as he is his only friend who knows the genre. The rapper - rebranding himself as Snoop Lion for the project - wanted to make a more "adult" record, and called on Diplo after being impressed with his work.
Speaking at the launch of Red Bull Culture Clash, Diplo told BANG Showbiz, "He hit me up, I was like the only person he knew that knew anything about reggae, and so we just met a couple of times and it became a really good idea to do this. We worked before on his last album, and he said, he wanted to do something that's a bit more adult." Diplo said Snoop got excited after he played him a song by his dancehall project Major Lazer, which convinced him to adopt a reggae sound.

Mumford and Sons’ People Trafficking Mixup
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Concerts / Tours, Gossip, Alternative, Folk, Rock,
Mumford and Sons were once accused of people trafficking.
The British folk band nearly missed a show on an American tour after deciding to travel on a vintage train, which was mistaken by police in Texas as a vehicle used to smuggle people over the Mexican border. "In Marfa, Texas, we were pulled over by police waiting for us with cars across the track. They accused us of stowing people away on the train. It was edgy, but the gig eventually went ahead. We swelled the town about fivefold and ended up playing soccer with the police," said bassist Ted Dwane.
