Jennifer Lopez believes "women have taken over the music industry."
The "Live it Up" hitmaker insists she's been in the trade for so long that she's definitely "here to stay" and that a lot of male artists aren't doing as well because females have been breaking the industry for over 20 years.
"Women have taken over the music industry - when you think of all the female artists who are out. Even going back 20 years, back to Cher, Gloria Estefan and that whole time with Mariah Carey and Celine Dion and then the next wave which was me and then Britney [Spears] and Beyonce to what's continued to now the Rihanna and Lady Gaga. With all these people there have been a few guys - but we have really had it on lock for a bit."

Sting is set to release his first new material in a decade later this year.
The "Fields of Gold" singer has recorded his first full-length album, The Last Ship, since his 2003 record Sacred Love after taking inspiration from songs he had penned for the same-titled Broadway musical, scheduled to open next year. The play is set in the 1980s in Wallsend, North East England, near where Sting - real name Gordon Sumner - grew up and the 61-year-old musician will use several songs from the show along with tracks he wrote which weren't included in the final line up.
Sting - who is currently touring North America with his Back to Bass tour - has been working hard on the LP for three years and has called upon the help of several collaborators, including James Bond writer John Logan and Brian Yorkey. The record, which will be his 11th studio album, will be released by a grouping of labels Cherrytree, Interscope and A & M Records.

Selena Gomez will quit singing to focus on acting.
The 20-year-old singer plans to take an extended break from music after her Stars Dance world tour this summer in order to concentrate on her film career, which took off last year thanks to her role in Spring Breakers. Asked whether she had plans to stop singing, she said, "Yeah, probably for a while, I wanna get more into film. I'm open to trying new things. I just did an action movie and a dark comedy and then a drama so I've been able to do really fun projects that are different."
The brunette star also teased some details of her super secretive tour, revealing her biggest priority is to get into shape in order to keep up with the energetic dance routines she has planned. "This is my first world tour so I definitely need to get in shape, that's the first thing I need to do. But it's always been my dream to tour the world and actually give myself to my fans the show they deserve. There's no planned [guests] right now. Just for this tour overall I'm doing a lot more dancing which I didn't really do on my last tour, the costumes are going to be a lot more detailed. Basically I'm going to be performing the whole new record," she explained.

The couple - who together have a 16-month-old daughter Blue Ivy - performed their huge hit "Crazy In Love" much to the delight of the crowd at London's Twickenham Stadium. They even shared a kiss on stage in front of the adoring fans at the show in aid of The Chime For Change charity which funds education, health and justice projects for women.
Appropriately opening her set with "A Change Is Gonna Come," the superstar led the crowd through a set filled with hits like "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies." Beyonce Slapped by Fan at Copenhagen Show

Beyonce was slapped on the butt by a male fan during her show in Denmark last night.
The 31-year-old singer was performing her track "Irreplaceable" at the Forum Copenhagen in a segment of her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour where she interacts with the audience as she struts on a catwalk. After handing her microphone to different fans to sing-a-long with the track she turned to go back to the main stage when the admirer outstretched his arm out to touch her bottom.
In video footage capturing the moment, Beyonce is seen turning around and looking shocked as the crowd gasp at the man's action, before she threatens to have him thrown out of the concert. Looking directly at the fan, she can be heard saying, "I will have you escorted out right now, alright?"

Ed Sheeran has hinted at more collaborations with Taylor Swift.
The Lego House singer is currently on tour with his close pal in the US and after having teamed up previously for their track "Everything Has Changed," featured on her album Red, Ed has indicated there may be more teamwork on his upcoming album.
"My second album has taken shape recently. I don't know if there will be any collaborations on it. You never know. I'm on tour with her for 6 months. I'm sure the guitars will come out at some point. We wrote ["Everything Has Changed"] in June. We went in to write another song for the Red album and then we went to record that other song. The day before we went to record it she invited me around to her house for food and "Everything Has Changed" came out of that."

Liam Gallagher Blasts Daft Punk
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Dance, Electronic, Pop, New Releases,
Liam Gallagher has blasted Daft Punk's new single.
The Beady Eye frontman insists he could've written "Get Lucky" in "a f***ing hour" and can't understand the "fuss" surrounding the French duo's track, which has already sold half a million copies in the UK.
"I'd write that in a f***ing hour. I don't know what the fuss is about, you know what I mean? It's like f**k off, give me a f**king break," he ranted.
Daft Punk - which is made up of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo - famously keep their real identities hidden, but Liam is not a fan of their helmetted-robot outfits: "I am not going to have people wear disguises. Take your f***ing helmet off. Let's see what you look like sans helmet, whatever you're called."

Avril Lavigne ‘Pushed’ Boundaries for New Album
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Collaborations, Upcoming Releases, Alternative, Pop,
Avril Lavigne "pushed" her boundaries for her new album.
The 28-year-old singer is set to release her follow up from 2011's Goodbye Lullaby and has thoroughly explored her emotions for the record, insisting she is proud for having a "completely different getup" to other female artists since first appearing on the music scene in 2002 with her track "Complicated."
"Lyrically, I pushed myself to talk about different subjects I haven't talked about before. I didn't want to be so simple. I tried to really express myself and go deeper. I wasn't the girl baring her midriff with backup dancers and a headset microphone. I came out and had a lot to say with my lyrics, and I played the guitar. I had a completely different getup, stage presence, everything," she said.
The "He Wasn't" musician recently revealed she has teamed up with goth rocker Marilyn Manson for a track on her upcoming fifth LP and admitted the '"heavier" material came about very spontaneously: "It was last minute [the song came about]. I was sitting there at the board thinking Manson would be perfect on this track, so I texted him and he's like, 'I'll come over and hear it.' So he came at four o'clock in the morning... Yes, it was one of those nights."
