Zooey DeschanelZooey Deschanel gets ''depressed'' when she is sent scripts where she is a supporting character.

The New Girl actress admits she rarely gets sent any projects or characters she can get excited about as a "comedienne" because she is often only sent parts as the lead actor's girlfriend.

"I really do feel that for a long time women didn't have the place in comedy that they should. I mean, when you get sent scripts and you see you're always playing someone's girlfriend when you want to be the central role, it's so depressing. As a comedienne, it felt so frustrating to always be setting up someone else's comedic moment."

However, the 32-year-old beauty thinks things began to change with the success of female-driven comedy Bridesmaids - starring Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph - because studio bosses understood there was an audience who weren't being catered to: "Bridesmaids success meant that a lot of networks realised people were interested in that kind of comedy. We already had our show in production, but it made the networks pay more attention."

Viola DavisViola Davis wants to be seen as "equal" to other actresses.

The Oscar-nominated actress feels her ethnicity means there is a limit to the kind of roles she is offered and wishes casting directors could appreciate her varying qualities.

"All I want is to have the same opportunities as a 46-year-old white actress. I'm a lot of things other than strong, sassy, wise and dignified. I just want to be seen as equal. That's it, simple as that," she said.

The Help star is frustrated that casting non-white stars in movies appears to be viewed as making the films niche by Hollywood bosses: "I can't think of a black actress, apart from Halle Berry maybe, who is considered a box-office draw. You can have a story about a white family living on fifth Avenue in New York that somehow speaks to all mankind, but if you have a black family in New York it only speaks to the black community apparently. It sends a message to Hollywood; 'Don't put your money into that black film, put it on the white film.'"

Katy PerryKaty Perry's 3-D movie will be released this summer.

The "California Gurls" singer is following in the footsteps of Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber by releasing a concert movie, which will be entitled Katy Perry: Part of Me.

"READY FOR HUGE NEWS?! FINALLY, my MOVIE is coming out with Paramount this summer! It's called ''KATY PERRY: PART OF ME'' Presented In 3D!(sic)" she wrote on Twitter.

Producers Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz are in negotiations to direct the project, which will feature footage from Katy both on and off stage. Their production company Magical Elves have previously worked on Project Runway and created Top Chef.

Sylvester Stallone as RamboSylvester Stallone is "dying" to make another Rambo movie.

The action star is desperate to reprise the role of Vietnam war veteran turned mercenary John Rambo for a fifth time and already has some plot ideas to incorporate.

"I'm dying to do another Rambo. He's in Arizona on the border. It will involve him going into Mexico. I don't think Rambo likes Mexicans."

However, Sylvester admitted there may then not be another film in the series. Asked if he would kill the character off, he told Macleans.ca, "Yes."

While the original Rambo movie, First Blood, was based on the novel by David Morrell, the endings differed and Sylvester admitted he changed it partly to open up the possibilities of turning the story into a franchise: "In the book, Rambo gets killed. I thought it was not the proper message. There had been close to 200,000 suicides by returning Vietnam vets. I said, 'Why don't we take him right to the edge without annihilating him?' Quentin Tarantino said, 'You're a coward, you should have killed him!' I said, 'Quentin, you're a lunatic. I want to do some sequels, brother.'"

21 Jump StreetJonah Hill thinks Channing Tatum was "perfect" for the role of Greg Jenko in 21 Jump Steet.

The 28-year-old actor - who co-wrote the script for new action comedy - explained the GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra star was the only person who would be "ballsy" enough to take on the part of the undercover police officer.

"We pictured it would be me and an action star. That was kind of the idea, we wanted someone who was known for action movies who was willing to play with that persona and be in a totally different kind of film. And Channing is the best person working in that field I think, and he was ballsy enough to take a leap of faith and do something different," he said.

Jonah admitted filming 21 Jump Street - which is based on the 80s TV show of the same name - often resulted in a number of impromptu scenes coming about as a consequence of the duo constantly "messing around" on set.

Lily CollinsLily Collins is to star in Writers.

The Mirror, Mirror actress will appear alongside Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly and Kristen Bell in the Josh Boone-directed movie.

The film tells the story of a famous novelist and the ex-wife, he's obsessed with, who will be played by Greg and Jennifer respectively. Lily will play their college-aged daughter who finds herself the subject of romantic obsession courtesy of a fellow student.

Writers will apparently spin several interweaving stories of the various family members and other people in their lives.

Shooting starts later this month.

Christina RicciChristina Ricci taught herself how to act.

The 32-year-old star - who landed her first major movie role at the age of 10 in Mermaids - had no formal training in the world of acting and had to teach herself at a young age how to get into character easily.

"People explained things to me in very simple ways when I was a child on set. Then as I got older I started understanding things in more complicated ways and starting creating my own mind games, methods and rules in my head."

However, the Bel Ami beauty now finds it hard to get out of character and often has to do something dramatic when she has finished filming to leave a role behind her: "Characters slowly leave you. You always try to do something to make it go faster. I usually dye my hair or cut it to get out of it. But it usually takes longer. It's like a break-up haircut. It doesn't really work."

Elizabeth OlsenElizabeth Olsen loves auditioning - even though she no longer has to.

The Martha Marcy May Marlene actress admits she likes to go into a casting meeting and read aloud so she knows those behind a film know exactly what they are going to get when they work with her.

"I love auditioning. I've always liked it. It's so funny -- now I don't really audition. You have meetings and I'm like, 'I'll read for you. Do you want me to read for you?' Because I like it. I think it's an important part of the process where you get to say, 'This is what I've thought. Do you jive with it?'"

Elizabeth - who is the sister of famous twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen - won a lot of critical acclaim for her role in Martha Marcy... and is now excited to "have choices'', but is finding it means she is signing up to every movie role she is being offered.

Angelina Jolie in SaltAngelina Jolie has reportedly rejected a script for Salt 2.

The 36-year-old actress has been reading Kurt Wimmer's script for the proposed sequel to the 2010 action blockbuster - in which she plays a CIA agent trying to prove she is not a Russian spy - but was unhappy with the project and refused to sign off on the draft.

Columbia Pictures have now asked the writer to pen a new draft in the hope Angelina will continue her commitment to the project, website Moviehole reports.

Angelina previously admitted she loves starring in Salt because it stopped her feeling "soft" after giving birth to twins Knox and Vivienne in July 2008: "It was difficult to switch to being an action hero for a minute. But it was so nice to have an excuse to get out of bed and get back in action and not feel so soft with the pregnancy and all that comes with it after."

However, she did occasionally have times when she felt like she should be back at home.

Jason SegelJason Segel will not be returning to film another Muppets movie.

The How I Met Your Mother actor - who played the role of Gary in the picture, as well as working as an executive producer and writer - is glad to have had a part in the musical puppet project, but is keen to move on to other things.

"My goal was to bring The Muppets back and I did that leaving them in very good hands, my writing partner and James Bobin the director. I did what I set out to do, and now I wanna pursue more human-related projects."

However, Jason - who starred alongside Amy Adams as the main human character in the well-received movie starring Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog - may return in some behind-the-scenes capacity: "All I wanted to do was to set the stage for them to do whatever they wanted. I'm sure I'll return in some capacity here and there, but that was half a decade of my life. Five years of hard work. I'm ready for a little puppet break."
