Nicole Kidman refused to say "the N word" on the set of The Paperboy.
The movie has proved controversial because of a scene where Nicole's character urinates on another, but when it came to making a racist remark, she outright refused. Director Lee Daniels told UsMagazine.com, "I asked her to use the 'N' word. I could feel the racial tension there in the town. She said, 'I won't do it.' I told my producer, 'She won't do it!' Then he mapped it out - 'Lee, day one she is on a washing machine, day two she is urinating on Zac Efron, day three she's having telepathic sex... I think you can forgive her."
Nicole plays a woman obsessed with marrying a death row inmate in The Paperboy and she said it "didn't feel right" to use the racially-offensive word. Of her refusal to make the requested remark, she explained, "I just didn't feel it was right for the character. I have a son [Connor] who is African American. I just didn't feel like it was right. What I try to do as an actor is fulfill a director's vision. I have opinions, but at the same time I'm not there to stop him from anything. I've really tried to do that in every film. I never want to pull them off their vision."
The Paperboy also stars Zac and Matthew McConaughey as brothers investigating the case of the inmate who Nicole's character is set on marrying.

Helen Hunt Gets Naked for a Role
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fox Searchlight, Drama, Celebrity Gossip, New Releases,
Helen Hunt was "totally, completely naked" when she shot scenes for The Sessions. The 49-year-old actress portrays a sex surrogate in the new movie and admits she felt "vulnerable" when it came to shooting the intimate scenes.
"This poet had polio at age six. At 37, he's told he won't live much longer. With an iron lung, can only turn his head at a 90-degree angle, he wants to experience sexual life for the first time. That's when a professional sex surrogate is called in. I play the sex surrogate. The material created a vulnerability. I personally felt extremely vulnerable. No body make-up, because that gets sticky and creepy. So I did it naked. All naked. Butt naked. Totally completely naked. Naked beyond just naked. My jaw dropped at the prospect. When I was about to take my clothes off, my palms started to sweat," she told The New York Post.
Helen met with the woman she plays in the film and says the struck up an instant connection and she is thrilled the sex surrogate loved the finished movie. "It's rare to read such a beautiful story. True story. This real life therapist, living in California, is Cheryl Cohen Greene. Typical soccer mom with a house, mortgage, husband. We met. I stole her spirit. Her accent. She's not shy or filled with shame. She's instantly open. A real deal. I could ask or tell her anything. The day we met she quickly jumped into the shower because she had a therapy session due with a 70-year-old man. She loved the finished film because she got her message through and said the things she wanted to say," she added.
Famke Janssen: Men Are Threatened by Me in Hollywood

Famke Janssen says men are "threatened" by her in Hollywood. The 47-year-old actress - who played Bond Girl Xenia Onatopp in 1995 movie GoldenEye - believes some male actors in the industry don't feel comfortable in her presence but she refuses to change the way she is just to please guys.
"My boyfriend [Cole Frates] says men get threatened by me and I notice it sometimes. I've seen women dumb themselves down in order to deal with men in Hollywood. I've never done it. I don't know how to, I'm too Dutch. I think we're way too straightforward as people to do that."
Famke recently reprised her role in Taken 2, which sees her play the ex of Liam Neeson's alter-ego, who is still in love with her, and she enjoyed working with the 60-year-old actor again because he is "so talented and handsome." She explained, "Oh my God, fantastic. He is so talented and handsome and tall. As a tall actress, it's not easy to find people you can actually look up to rather than look down on. In the story, he's married to his work and I think that would be problematic in a relationship.

Muse regrets missing out on recording a James Bond theme.
The "Survival" band - Matt Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard - didn't contribute a track to the latest film in the spy franchise, Skyfall, but think that their song "Supremacy" would have been perfect.
"It's got a little bit of a Bond vibe - it all goes a bit crazy [like former Bond theme] 'Live And Let Die' in the middle. My view is they should use it for the James Bond film, but I don't know what's going on with that. I heard Adele was doing it," said Dominic, describing the track.
It was recently confirmed the titular theme to Skyfall will be sung by Adele, and is expected to be released next week.

Jennifer Lawrence is Scared of Horror Films
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Horror, Thrillers, Celebrity Gossip, New Releases,
Jennifer Lawrence decided to star in a horror movie to overcome her fear of scary films. The Hunger Games actress made a unusual career choice by agreeing to appear in new film House at the End of the Street so she could try and beat her aversion to the genre.
"In real life I'm terrified of horror movie. If I want to watch one, I have to plan out the next three months of my life, because I'll know I'm going to be afraid of everything - afraid of the dark, afraid of my own shadow. I thought if I had the experience of actually being in one it would make me less afraid seeing them. I'll have to see how that one works out."
The 22-year-old star has recently changed her hair to a much darker color for the next installment in the The Hunger Games franchise, but she is still getting used to the change and sometimes she doesn't recognize her own reflection because of the style switch: "The color is hard for me to get used to because I've always been blonde. If I wake up in the middle of the night to pee and catch myself in the mirror, I think, 'Whoa! Who's that?' I scare myself."
