Perhaps due to the film noir content of the story, the folks behind the Bret Easton Ellis-penned The Canyons released a teaser yesterday in the style of a 1950s trailer.

In the film, Lindsay Lohan stars opposite porn star James Deen, one of the two men the trailer claims she must choose between. The acting in the trailer seems a bit cheesy, but I'm truly hoping that it's just confined to the trailer itself and not the film! Directed by Paul Shrader, the film has a slated 2013 release with no exact date set just yet.

Andrew GarfieldIt may not be due in theaters for well over a year from now, but the start of pre-production on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has got fans wanting to know what to expect - and Peter Parker Andrew Garfield has offered a few clues.

For starters, Garfield pointed out that the costume will be going under some redesigning - mostly due to a bodily function he couldn't perform while in it: "The suit is undergoing a redesign because I couldn't urinate in it last time. So I'm less nervous 'cause that's gonna be nice."

More importantly, Garfield discussed some possible themes that may be expressed in the sequel:

"I feel like we got over a hump with our first one. We had to reinstate the character, and we had to reinvigorate an audience to the character. And I hope to bring more of this theme - the theme of the orphan... I wanna keep exploring that theme of being fatherless, being motherless, searching for purpose and finding a purpose within himself, being a self-made man, I guess."

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 currently has an expected release date of May 2, 2014.

Daniel Craig as James Bond in 'Skyfall'

To no one's surprise, Skyfall swept the box office this weekend, nabbing the number one spot at the box office. What is a pleasant surprise - for the film's producers, anyway - was that the 23rd James Bond film's take of $87.8 million secured a new opening weekend record for the 50-year-old franchise.

Disney's latest film, Wreck-It Ralph, was bumped down from its number one title to number two with $33 million while Flight also dropped a spot to number three with $15.1 million. Argo remains within the top five with $6.7 million in its fifth week while Taken 2 stayed put at number five with $4 million.

Matthew McConaugheyMatthew McConaughey has officially joined the likes of Christian Bale and Matt Damon, having shed 30 pounds (from his already svelte frame) for his role as Ron Woodroof in the upcoming film The Dallas Buyers Club.

Recently spotted at LAX, the star's gaunt look frightened onlookers.

"For me, it's more of a mental thing than a physical thing. I'll get down to the weight I need to get to. I'm on the way, and it's what I need to do for the job... It's a bit of a spiritual cleanse, mental cleanse. [I'm] drinking a lot of tea," he told Larry King in a recent interview.

McConaughey's character in the film plays an AIDS-ridden patient who cures himself with alternative medications from Mexico. Based on a true story, The Dallas Buyers Club also stars Jennifer Garner, who plays his doctor, and Jared Leto, in his first film role in four years. Directed by Canadian filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée, the film is expected to be shot in New Orleans.

Paul Thomas AndersonTalk about a change of pace! Known for his riveting dramas, Paul Thomas Anderson recently revealed that he would like to follow up his Oscar-worthy film The Master with a comedy.

"Soon hopefully. I have to write it. It sounds daunting. I'd like to make a film like Airplane!. That never gets old. Or Ted. It was a big hit. Why? Because it’s great. Movies that are that big a hit are never f****** bad," the writer-director said when asked when he would be filming his comedy.

Although his films have always had some hints of dark comedy in them, I wouldn't be surprised if his partner - Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph - had a little bit to do with his new vision!

Considering the introduction of Joaquin Phoenix's character in The Master and the legendary milkshake scene in There Will Be Blood, I have a feeling that Anderson will transition just fine into a humorous venture.

Michael Bay and Mark WahlbergTransformers director Michael Bay has revealed on his blog that Mark Wahlberg will be replacing Shia LaBeouf in the fourth installment of the alien robot franchise.

"Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on Pain and Gain and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers legacy," Bay wrote.

Projected for a June 27, 2014 release, Transformers 4 is expected to take a new direction in the series.

Despite the tremendous boost the franchise gave to his career, LaBeouf is most likely not too sad about being replaced, as he has recently slammed the studio system and has sworn to only pursue independent features.

Kristen StewartKristen Stewart is "creeped" out by fans of the book Fifty Shades of Grey.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 star - whose boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson is being hotly tipped to secure the lead role of Christian Grey in the big screen adaptation - admitted that although she has only read a few pages of the erotic novel she finds it disturbing.

"I've skimmed parts of it. When I read the first few pages describing her messy hair, I was like, 'This is so strange.' But it's just so raunchy! I mean, obviously, everyone knows that. But when I see people reading it on planes and stuff, I'm genuinely creeped out. Like, you're basically just reading porn right now! Get that blanket off your lap!"

The actress's boyfriend of four years Robert Pattinson was considered a favorite to play the starring role in the film version of bestseller because the role is based on his character Edward in the Twilight Saga franchise. But according to new reports the British star may be too busy working on other projects to take on the role.
