The Hobbit Will Premiere in New Zealand in November

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will have its world premiere in New Zealand on November 28.
Director Peter Jackson has revealed the special screening will be hosted at the Embassy Theatre in Wellington before the movie is released worldwide in December as filming took place in the country.
"We cannot think of a more perfect way to send The Hobbit off into the world than to celebrate with a huge party here in Wellington, where the journey began," he said.
Based on the novel by J.R.R. Tolkien, the movie is set 60 years before the events in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy take place. In The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins attempts to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from Smaug, the dragon. Martin Freeman plays the hobbit while Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen, will all reprise their roles from the trilogy. Andy Serkis will once again star as Gollum using motion capture imagery.
The film is split into two parts, with the second installment - The Hobbit: There And Back Again - due for release in December 2013.

X-Men: First Class Sequel to Feature Time Travel

The X-Men: First Class' sequel is set to feature time travel.
The makers of the movie have registered the title Days Of Future Past - which is one of the most famous story arcs from the comic book series - with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), according to aintitcool.com. The storyline switches between the present day and a future in which mutants are an outlawed species, following the assassination of Senator Kelly by villain Magneto (Michael Fassbender). Kitty Pryde manages to warn her future self of the threat and the X-Men embark on a race against time to stop Magneto before it's too late.
Simon Kinberg, who also worked as a screenwriter on X-Men: The Last Stand will write the script while Matthew Vaughn will once again direct.
Matthew has previously spoken about his ideas for the sequel saying he would only bring in one new character: "We will only have one more new character. I won't say who he or she is! But we will only be bringing one more new character in. Because, I think, as Professor X (James McAvoy) is in a wheelchair, Magneto needs to have a nemesis he can fight with. Someone that will be his equal. I know who it is. It would be nice if I could say something, but I can't!"

The actor was resigned to not getting the part after going up against Hollywood's hottest young talent - including Jamie Bell and Aaron Johnson - for the role, but ten minutes after being told he was successful he was paraded in front of the world's press, leaving him feeling like a superstar.
"I'd gotten the impression that it wasn't going to go my way. I was resigned to it. I went to see the producers having zero expectations. I imagined I'd be leaving there crying, wishing I'd chosen a different profession. [Being paraded in front of the press] was pretty insane. I got to feel like Elvis for a moment, which was fun."
Meanwhile, Andrew has revealed the moment he was told of his success has been recorded on camera so fans may get to witness it someday: "I knocked on the door and [director] Mark Webb answered which was the first weird thing. And then I saw a little Flipcam which was recording. They were filming my reaction to not getting the role or getting the role. I hoped it wasn't cruel because that would have been f****d up."

The 38-year-old actress and her writing partner Annie Mumolo were in contention for the Best Original Screenplay prize for Bridesmaids at this year's Academy Awards and though they didn't win, Kristen is delighted all her work on the comedy has paid off.
"To hear my name and Annie's announced, after five years of writing and working on the film - it was surreal. Professionally, the reception of this film has allowed me opportunities I could only dream of and I am incredibly grateful. It all feels like one big highlight."
Although she was pleased to be nominated for an award, Kristen says it is the response of fans of the movie that mean the most to her: "People have told me that the film made them laugh and cry and that the friendships really resonate with them. For me, there is no better compliment than that."
Seth MacFarlane: Mark Wahlberg is Versatile

The action star has taken on a comedy role in the new movie where he plays a grown man reunited with a life-size version of his treasured childhood teddy bear, Ted, who quickly starts to come between him and his girlfriend (Mila Kunis) and Seth was impressed with Mark's range.
"There's not much he can't do. He's extraordinarily versatile. It's always surprising because he's such a humble guy who's not showy about it. He'll just very quietly come onto the set and do anything you throw at him and do it brilliantly. Mark's character has to pull the audience into this reality in a way that makes it seem like not that big a deal. He has to be able to talk to an empty space with the comfort that would show he was talking to another live actor and Mark just knocked that out of the park," he told Empire.

Box Office Breakdown: Snow White Slays Competition

Is it Chris Hemsworth's amazing hair? Was it the aggressive marketing campaign? Is Kristen Stewart actually a box office draw? Whatever it was, something prompted movie-goers this weekend to spend their dollars towards Snow White and the Huntsman -- approximately $56.2 million of them.
Men in Black 3, therefore, was bumped down from its short-lived number one spot to number two with $29.3 million. Marvel's The Avengers dropped to number three with a decent $20.2 million. Battleship dipped down one spot to number four with $4.8 million while The Dictator rounded out the top five with $4.7 million.

The Twilight Saga hunk admitted he would prefer to make smaller, gritty dramas rather than take on blockbuster roles because he thinks he doesn't have the physique to be an action hero.
"If there is a way to maintain a career doing small, interesting movies I would take that option. I'm not buff enough for robot movies."
Robert also revealed he lacks confidence in his abilities and isn't expecting anyone to go wild for his latest movie Cosmopolis: "That's my biggest problem, confidence. I'm taking baby steps and hoping people will keep employing me. I can't see tons of people watching Cosmopolis and screaming at it. It would be amazing if they did."

The film director was astounded when he realized a film crew had come from Hong Kong to Mexico and remade his first film and even though they didn't approach him for the rights, wasn't angry about it.
"I saw somebody do a straight remake of El Mariachi, shot for shot. It's called Run, they showed a double feature of it in Austin. It was from Hong Kong, what are you going to do, sue them? They can do whatever they want. I loved it, it was fantastic to watch! It's in Chinese but shot in Mexico, and it's the same, they just remade it without getting the rights, they just went and did it. While you're watching it, you see how they re-did each scene, like 'Wow, they had much more money, oh, there's a helicopter shot, great production value.'"

Jamie Foxx: Django Unchained is a Love Story

The Oscar-winning actor plays the titular character in the spaghetti western, whose main goal in life is to recover his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) but first needs to get past the villainous ranch Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), who runs club Candyland, where his spouse and other female slaves are exploited as sex objects and Jamie believes the husband/wife relationship is the most important one in the movie.
"The one thing that stuck out to me in the script was that Django got married. Back then to be married was taboo. You could be killed... The strongest buck would mate with the strongest black woman so they could get stronger slaves. They didn't want black people married. So Django being married was a big thing for me. This is a love story. He's not trying to stop slavery. He's not trying to do anything but find the love of his life - which is like trying to find a needle in a world of haystacks."

Johnny Depp is to Receive the MTV Generation Award

The actor is being given the accolade as a celebration of his contribution to cinema over the last twenty years, in films such as Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sleepy Hollow.
"Johnny Depp is a fearless, once-in-a-generation talent with a chameleon-like ability to inhabit any role. With years of astonishing performances, Johnny has truly earned this Generation Award, and we look forward to honoring him with a can't-miss tribute at this year's Movie Awards," stated Stephen Friedman, President of MTV.
Previous recipients of the MTV Generation Award include Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.
The MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand and take place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday. They will then be aired by the network on June 4.
