Sequel News: Austin Powers, Final Destination and More


Austin Powers: The Shrek films may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean Mike Myers can’t tread into familiar territory. According to director Jay Roach, it’s quite possible we’ll be seeing another Austin Powers film. “You know, I hope so,” Roach said when asked about a sequel. “Mike’s working on ideas for it, people are definitely talking about it and I’m always good for it. I love those characters.”

First Look: Wall Street 2 Trailer


The new trailer above gives us a glimpse of how Oliver Stone will show today’s more modern take on greed in .

The film - a sequel to the critically-acclaimed 1987 entry - brings back Oscar winner as his iconic character Gordon Gekko. Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan (An Education) both co-star.

When he’s not searching for crystal skulls, running from large robots or flipping his own vehicle, can clean up quite nicely.

In , Shia’s character (Jacob Moore) is a Wall Street trader engaged to Winnie Gekko (Carey Mulligan), the estranged daughter of Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas). Jacob finds himself helping the recently-jailed Gekko repair his family situation in exchange for help with a hedge fund manager (Josh Brolin).

The film - also starring Frank Langella and Susan Sarandon - opens April 23.

Ryan Reynolds Embraces His Inner Woman

Ryan Reynolds set to go drag in upcoming filmIn an effort to expand his acting range, Ryan Reynolds will dress as a woman in his next movie.

The X-Men Origins: Wolverine actor is set to take on the lead role in an as-yet untitled movie which will see his character disguise himself in drag in order to befriend his ex-girlfriend in a bid to win her back.

Ryan, who will next shoot superhero movie The Green Lantern, will also serve as executive producer on the project, which does not yet have a director.

The script is being penned by Wall Street 2 writer Allan Loeb. No further casting information has been given.

In addition to the cross-dressing caper, it was recently reported that Ryan is set to take over from Tom Cruise in Motorcade after the Mission Impossible star dropped out of the project to appear in Wichita. The action thriller sees the actor playing a disgraced Secret Service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when the US president is kidnapped in New York.
