Vanessa Hudgens is looking forward to seeing High School Musical spin-off Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.
The 21-year-old star admits she would not be going back to the musical franchise for a long-term role, but would make a cameo in the Ashley Tisdale-led movie if asked.
“If she’s like, ‘Hey!’ I’d be like, ‘OK!’, Well, she’s my best, best friend. I don’t know. I’m stoked for her and it’s going to be awesome. Kids love Sharpay and I did love Sharpay too, her costumes and her clothes and everything. It’s so much fun, so I’m really glad she’s doing it.”
Discussing the possibility of her character Gabriella Montez making a comeback, Vanessa told MTV News, “I don’t think my character has as many fun costumes as she does. So it’s not worth it.”
Shooting on Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure is due to begin this summer with a premiere in 2011.

Big Plans for the X-Men Franchise

Wolverine won’t be the last of the X-Men side stories; there are more flicks in the works for eager comic book fans.
Producer Lauren Shuler-Donner recently revealed a few juicy details about the future of the franchise. Wolverine 2 will feature “samurai, ninja, katana blades, different forms of martial arts”—in other words, lots of “extreme fighting.”
Other planned movies include X-Men: First Class and Deadpool. First Class will be a little “darker” and potentially include several “strange villains.” Ryan Reynolds will be working on Deadpool at the same time he’s shooting for the Green Lantern movie, but Shuler-Donner doesn’t anticipate a problem. In the flick, Reynolds will play Wade Wilson, described as “a bad ass, a wise-cracking mercenary who will go out and kill anyone for money.”

Columbia Moving Forward with Venom
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Columbia Pictures, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Casting, Rumors, Scripts, Upcoming Releases,
Spider-Man 4 screenwriter Gary Ross is to direct a spin-off film based on super-villain Venom. Ross - who directed Pleasantville and Seabiscuit and whose screenwriting credits include Big and Dave - is to rewrite the script and helm the hotly-anticipated project.
It is not yet known whether Topher Grace, the actor who played the alien parasite in 2007’s Spider-Man 3, will return. Topher, 31, has only just signed on to star in Robert Rodriguez’s Predators - based on the character from the cult 1987 sci-fi film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger - so it is unlikely he will have time for the role.

Spider-Man’s Venom Set for Spinoff
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sony, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Rumors,
Hero, schmero. Thanks to the popularity of Heath Ledger‘s Joker, Hollywood may soon be looking to exploit the audience’s love for much darker characters.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sony is tossing around the idea of giving Venom his own film. Most probably remember the character as the villain played by Topher Grace in last year’s Spider-Man 3.
As for when we could see the spinoff in theaters is unknown. Right now, the studio is still trying to produce a suitable script. The execs also have to agree on a lead actor. Although Tobey Maguire was given a chance to play the webbed one, those behind the scenes are apparently nervous about Grace’s box office appeal. Fortunately, since Venom is technically a gooey substance and not necessarily a person, they could actually attach any person they want to the project. (Pun intended.)
Whether or not Venom gets off the ground, Sony still intends on producing Spider-Man 4. That installment is expected to debut in 2011.
